Problem Solving and Decision Making Flowchart

Within the flowchart, make sure to discuss the role of inductive and deductive reasoning in this decision making or problem solving process. THIS portion is mine item 5 right before the last 6 where someone takes all of our info and puts in flowchart.  This is all the info that I have so far. Of course I will need apa formatting and spelling and plagiarism checked. Also no quotes all paraphrased and sited.

Here is the assignment:

Problem Solving and Decision Making Flowchart

This assignment allows you to use some of your creative talents (Right-brain kind of stuff) to create a problem solving and decision making flowchart that incorporates the concepts we have been discussing

In this team activity, you must address the following:

1) Choose a scenario or problem that needs to be “solved” or a decision that needs to be made.

2) Describe the decision, problem, or scenario in detail

3) Create a flowchart that demonstrates your understanding of the various factors and steps involved in solving problems and making decisions. The flowchart should be like a roadmap to solving the problem or making the decision based upon what you have selected. What is the step-by-step process that is involved? What are the step-by-step problem solving strategies that must be followed (or decision making strategies).

4) Make sure to select a model of decision making or problem solving based upon the literature, and incorporate that into your flowchart.

5) Within the flowchart, make sure to address where perception, attention, memory, and language fall in the process (analyze the roles of each by incorporating them into the flowchart).

6) Within the flowchart, make sure to discuss the role of inductive and deductive reasoning in this decision making or problem solving process.

You are free to utilize whatever Microsoft platform you would like (Word, PowerPoint) or as an Adobe PDF to create a simple yet comprehensive flowchart that demonstrates the steps that are necessary in solving problems and making decisions. Make sure you are including academic material (meaning you need to follow APA rules for in-text citations; don’t use quotes – write in your own words and support with parenthetical citations). You can make it interactive if you so choose.

You will still need to include a references page at the end of your flowchart. Please save it with your team name, like this:  TeamA.Flowchart.

Problem Solving Decision Making Flow Chart

The problem that was chosen to discuss is between abortions versus adoptions within the past ten years. Abortion is defined as the deliberate termination of a pregnancy, which is often performed within the first twenty-eight weeks of pregnancy. Adoption is defined as giving the acceptance of a human child to a parent who is not related genetically. From 2008-2011 the number of abortions has decreased to about 13% (around 630,000). Although abortions decreased in clinics they actually increased due to women utilizing a medication called RU-486 despite the overall decline of abortions overall. The average number of children who were up for adaption is around 415,000 children. From the statistics shown individuals are resorting to abortion than adoption.

Within the flowchart, make sure to address where perception, attention, memory, and language fall in the process (analyze the roles of each by incorporating them into the flowchart).

Perception

The perception of the problem abortion Vs adoption is not an easy one. Many people choose abortion because sometimes is an easy solution to get rid of the responsibility of caring for a child for the rest of their life. The problem is that the abortion is not a subject well accepted in our society. While the abortion is allowed in many American states and abide by the law, groups like the Alabama citizen for life, Alaska right to life, and American life League (“Anti-Abortion Directory”, n.d.) among others are opposed to it. They fight every day to convince many women to choose the adoption method after keeping their pregnancy.  The role of perception is how well the women take the influences of the society, family, or media when making the decision of having an abortion or giving away their child for adoption.

Attention

Women have to pay attention to all the consequences that having an abortion may bring to them. The role of the attention is to help the women to understand the existent options that they have when thinking about abortion. Sometimes they even choose to decline their decision of having an abortion.

Language

The way that people talk about the subject has to be taken into consideration. It might be a significant influence in the decision making of having an abortion or giving the child for adoption. The use of language to communicate the feelings, and the reasons about an unwanted pregnancy, and the descriptions of an abortion process could make a great difference.

Memory

One significant part of the problem solving is the memory, with it, we can think or look back to the cultural beliefs and traditions; evaluate how was the experience that leads you to the unwanted pregnancy, and looks for possible solutions to the problem that match your personal beliefs and traditions.

My Part was( Make sure to select a model of decision making or problem solving based upon the literature, and incorporate that into your flowchart). I decided to do the decision making since it’s a sensitive topic (abortion) and requires a lot of decision making on the person (s).  Let me know if more is needed and how it looks thanks!

I will be completing my portion either late tonight or tomorrow evening. I will be comparing abortion and antiabortion. The comparison of both sides. Does this sound good? Let me know as I am in the process of finishing it up.

Thanks,

How would you respond to the teacher’s question about the boys’ sexual orientation, based on research?

Imagine that you are working as a counselor in an elementary school. A teacher has come to you, concerned that a student in her class might have been sexually abused. She explains that she became concerned when two of her 5-year old male students did not come out of the restroom after she called to them several times from the door. When she went in to check on them, she saw the boys facing each other, with Kyle’s pants around his ankles. Brandon was touching Kyle’s penis and both boys were laughing. In addition to her concern about abuse, the teacher is wondering if the boys could be gay.

  • As the counselor, explain to the boys’ teacher whether their behavior is indicative of sexual abuse. Remember to reflect on the research you have learned about, and give details to demonstrate why you might come to that conclusion.
  • How would you respond to the teacher’s question about the boys’ sexual orientation, based on research?
  • What recommendations should you, as the counselor, give to the teacher?  Keep in mind research pertaining to the promotion of healthy sexual development by parents and schools.
