Openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism are all personality traits that an individual might possess. Understanding one’s personality is important, because it not only affects an individual’s disposition but also his or her overall well-being. Personality also has major impact on world view and the ways in which people deal with discrete and chronic life-stressors.

How might your personality be manifested in your present life? Furthermore, how might your personality traits be working for (or against) you in avenues such as career, friendships, and personal relationships? For this Assignment, you take the Five Factor Personality Test (FFPT), located in this week’s Learning Resources, to better identify your personality traits. You will then reflect on your life and self-identity to determine whether you believe your results to be accurate.

Post by Day 4 a brief description of your scores on the FFPT. Explain whether you think the FFPT is an accurate assessment of your personality traits and why. Describe at least two influences that impacted your personality development from childhood through adulthood. Describe how your personality traits are manifested in your present life, including your emotional well-being, career decisions, and personal relationships as appropriate.

Personality Theory At Work In Popular Media

For this discussion, you will choose a person who has an important presence in popular media today. This person might be a political, business, human rights, education, or entertainment figure. Examine the major theoretical approaches studied in the class so far (psychodynamic, behavioral, learning, trait and type, and humanistic). Briefly describe your chosen figure’s personality from the point of view of each of these five approaches. Evaluate and describe any cultural considerations which may affect the personality assessment within each of the given approaches. Analyze the ethical implications of basing your personality assessment on the information available through the popular media. Select the theoretical approach you think best describes the person and elaborate on his or her personality using this approach.

Write a 2,450- to 3,500-word paper comparing and contrasting three therapeutic interventions used to treat this disorder. Compare measures of effectiveness, such as validity, efficacy, symptom and behavior management, and recidivism. One therapy should be cognitive in nature, one should be pharmacological in nature, and the third should be an alternative therapeutic treatment.

Identify common symptoms associated with your disorder and rates of symptom reduction or management as reported with the three treatments. Based on your research, what would be your approach to treating the condition? Identify which treatments you would use. Explain why.

Recall the researcher who investigated the relationship between hours of sleep and reaction times in the Week 4 Application. As a follow up to that study, the researcher wants to conduct a correlation to investigate further if there is a relationship between hours of sleep and reaction time. For this experiment, participants are allowed to sleep as much as they would like (that is, they are not assigned to sleep any specific number of hours). When 20 participants come to their appointment time, they report to the researcher how many hours of sleep they had the previous night. The researcher then tests their reaction times.
