General Describtion:
The course is certified for the core area of Capstone, and enrolled students are expected to demonstrate the following dimensions:

critical thinking;
inquiry-based learning;
creative and interpretive processes and experiences.

As a demonstration of the above expectations, students will engage in a term-long assignment that will bring together reading, research, and writing. The final product of the assignment may be any one of the following options:

communication research paper (suited for those applying to graduate school)
communication-oriented policy paper (suited for those trying to apply communication concepts to real-life situations)
digital storytelling (suited for those simply writing an assignment)
informative video (suited for those seeking a career in media, and prior experience with such formats)

Irrespective of the final product, all students will complete the following assignments:

Introduction
Literature Review

The above two assignments will follow the same instructions and rubric. The final product will be graded with a rubric that has been standardised as closely as possible.

Introduction
General:

Assignment will be written in 190-200 words (excluding bibliography)
12 pt. font, double-spaced, one-inch margins
APA-style bibliography

Requirements:
The assignment will answer the following questions:

What are you doing?

The answer to this question should ideally be the first paragraph.
The paragraph will also contain a thesis statement.
Even though you are responding to a seemingly simple question, you must write an argument.

Why are you doing it?

The answer to this question should ideally explain the significance of your project.
The paragraph will refer to other research that you borrow from, critique, and/or extend. This research can be different from what will be conducted for the literature review assignment.

How are you doing it?

The answer to this question should ideally address the method/theory you employ in your analysis.
The paragraph will elaborate on the option you chose for the final product. For example, if you choose the digital storytelling option, you must explain the approaches, philosophies, and theories of the method.

 Servant leadership and transformational leadership can be described as similar. The definition of transformational leadership is “a leadership approach that causes change in individuals and social systems” (Stone, Russel & Patterson, 2003). Transformational leadership focuses on the organizations goals and then works on empowering the individuals within the organization to meet this organizational goals (Stone, Russel & Patterson, 2003). “Transformational leaders transform the personal values of followers to support the vision and goals of the organization by fostering an environment where relationships can be formed and by establishing a climate of trust in which visions can be shared” (Stone, Russel & Patterson, 2003). Essentially where servant leadership focuses on the individuals first, transformational leadership focuses on the organization first. Both forms of leadership can be effective, but one may be better to use in a situation over the other. Each form of leadership has unique characteristics that make it beneficial to use in any given situation. There are four behaviors that are part of transformational leadership. These include “1. idealized influence (or charismatic influence), 2. inspirational motivation, 3. intellectual stimulation, and 4. individualized consideration” (Stone, Russel & Patterson, 2003). We are familiar with the principles and attributes of servant leadership, and while they are similar, there are differences. I personally think that in many situations for continued success, servant leadership would be more beneficial. I believe this because servant leader builds up, inspires and focuses on individuals rather than an organization. If we focus on individuals then we are building them to be successful and to be able to handle continuing changes and new initiatives within the organization. Focusing on the individuals gives them the tools to adapt to change and continue to be successful. 

Original Question:

How do servant leaders, as compared with leaders using the transformational model of leadership, manage organization dynamics and lead change to ensure that the continued success of the stakeholders will be served?
