The company you work for is considering changing its applicant testing process. Your supervisor has asked you to research testing methods and make your recommendation. This proposal will be submitted to the vice president for review and consideration.

For the purpose of this assignment, it helps to have a specific type of organization in mind. Provide an opening paragraph stating the nature of the company you are choosing for this assignment (e.g., retail organization, factory, school, police department, etc). You may be creative in what type of organization you choose.

Select (at minimum) 3 major types of tests (examples include cognitive abilities, motor and physical abilities, personality and interests, achievement tests, work sampling, etc.).

  • Discuss the legal and ethical implications you see with each test.

  • What specific employment laws will be a factor?

  • What adverse impact (if any) may be created in using each test, and how could that be minimized?

Based on the results of that compare/contrast, which testing method do you believe may be the most appropriate for your organization and why?

  • Remember to compare and contrast testing methods specifically to demonstrate how the methodologies you have not selected may have more negative ethical and legal consequences than the one you have selected.

Within the proposal, you should also discuss ways in which advancements in technology have helped to make the applicant testing and selection process more efficient and effective.

what is the place and role of colonial languages in african literature do african writers gain or lose anything by writing in colonial languages

Since the publication of Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart in 1958, African writers and readers have been divided over the question of language in African literature. This question has given rise to two basic schools of thought, one emphasizing the importance of African languages in African literature and the other arguing for the centrality of colonial languages (French, English, Portuguese, German etc) in the same literary canon. Basing your argument on Mukoma wa Ngugi’s views as expressed in the reading entitled “Manufacturing the African Novel: The Makerere Writers and Questions of Language, Identity and Ownership” , discuss the importance of African languages in the production and consumption of African literature in Africa. In your considered view, what is the place and role of colonial languages in African literature. Do African writers gain or lose anything by writing in colonial languages?
In compiling your essay, endeavor to quote as extensively as possible from the reading and other sources.
Also, use one method of your choice when citing your sources throughout the essay.
Your essay should include a Works Cited page.

You will be graded based on the following:

A) Adherence to instructions, that is, if the question calls for X amount of examples, they should all be there, clearly delineated and labeled.

B) Details. Writing, “the film taught me a lot about media” will result in an F. Explaining, with detailed reference to course work, how a film taught you something, what, in what way, etc. will lead you closer to an A. Your answers should be written as if explaining yourself to someone who has not been in this class, who has no idea what we have done and who you need to understand what you are saying.

C) Timeliness. Every 10 minutes your exam is late you will lose 5 points toward your final grade.

D) Your conclusions are your own and never factor in to your grade. You are only graded based on the steps taken to make your point or reach your conclusion and your adherence to all stated instructions.

paper that describe everything below

make it clear for both question and what paragraph is for what. No Plagiarism, Put reference if used.

Post-truth (adj) relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion or personal belief.
In 2016 Oxford Dictionaries chose post-truth as Word of the Year. You may read their explanation here: https://www.oxforddictionaries.com/press/news/2016/11/17/WOTY-16

For the past several weeks we have looked at a number of topics from mythological/poetic ways of knowing the world (perhaps pre-truth would be a forgivable neologism for it) and scientific ways of knowing the world, where truth is derived from facts and the scientific method. For this paper I want a brief, but clear and relevant, essay which addresses the following question:
Do you see evidence of post-truth thinking and behavior in our culture regarding any large and relevant issues? Is this a good thing? Using what we have learned in class, what do you think about the concept of post-truth and how do you think it relates to mythical/poetic thought (‘pre-truth’) and scientific thinking (‘truth’ thinking?), is post-truth good for medicine, industry, ecology, public safety, etc.? What would a post-truth future look like?

Papers should be 2-3 pages, concise, clear and well-reasoned. You will not be graded on your opinions but on your understanding of course content as it relates to the concept of ‘post-truth’, your presentation of evidence mustered to support your thinking, and the precision and clarity of your thoughts and writing.

If you use any references cite them appropriately.

Some of you may find this useful, it is a short video which applies reason and ‘truth’ based thinking to some topics often treated in a more pre- or perhaps post-truth manner.
