translating 6 lines from middle english canterbury tale to modern english using your own words then identifying one formal feature

Part I. Choose a 6-line passage to translate into Modern English, with careful attention to vocabulary and syntax. Make sure to copy out the original Middle English with your translation below. Part II. Beneath your translation, identify one formal feature of the poetry (simile, metaphor, imagery, pun), and discuss how that formal feature helps us understand a theme in the tale. (150-200 words, not counting translation).

Specific instructions:

Please remember to complete and submit to Blackboard your Reading Response regarding the Miller’s Prologue and Tale before class tomorrow. Keep a few things in mind, please:

  1. Although I have approved the use of the website “librarius” to assist your comprehension of the Middle English, I do not want you to use that website to complete your Reading Response.
  2. The translations should be your work, and the Middle English quotations and translations should not simply be copied and pasted into your submission.
  3. You should transcribe (write out) the Middle English from our textbook and then do your best to write out a modern English translation below. You may use the glossed words from the textbook, as well as any translations in the textbook footnotes.
  4. Your translation should not attempt to rhyme or preserve the poetic syntax; rather, it should be a prose (not poetry) translation that
    1. accounts for each word (rather than summarizes) and
    2. makes sense in modern English.
  5. I am grading these translations based on your honest efforts, and not exactitude. I am grading Part II according to the depth of your engagement with the formal features of the language and your connection to a theme in the text.

Panic Disorder

Assessment: Describe how the disorder is assessed taking into consideration basic components of the interview(problem, mental status, vegetative etc.) historical data, medical evaluation and suggested medical tests(lab, scans etc.), psychological tests, etc.  This does not mean to just briefly describe the interview or the need to collect, historical data, conduct a medical evaluation or do psychological tests. This means for each assessment component whether it be the interview or the MMPI-2, the student should discuss how these assessment procedures determine the evidence for the disorder. In other words, when collecting historical data, what does one look for in the history of someone who has antisocial personality disorder or a person who has body dysmorphic disorder? What specific historical issues are evident in the family? What findings does a selected psychological test show or what scale that aids in the diagnosis of a particular disorder? Which scale of the MMPI-2 might reflect antisocial characteristics? You have to do the research to answer certain areas.
