Create a presentation (using PowerPoint, or your favorite slideshow tool) in which you address the following:

Create a presentation (using PowerPoint, or your favorite slideshow tool) in which you address the following:  Identify and describe three challenges typically faced in middle adulthood (make sure to cite sources) – minimum 3 slides Identify and describe three recommendations for how to overcome those challenges (make sure to cite sources) – minimum 3 slides Offer two detailed suggestions for how thrive in middle adulthood (make sure to cite sources) – minimum 2 slides You must cite your unit reading and/or outside sources to support your statements. I’m not looking for opinions here – you must support your statements and suggestions with cited sources. Include a reference slide at the end, with your references in APA format, and use in-text citations on your slides.  Keep in mind that I’m also not looking for you to copy and paste information from the reading/websites and stick it into your slides. You can use a direct quote if you feel you need to, but it must have quotation marks around it to indicate that it is a direct quote. Everything else will need to be in your own words (paraphrase), followed by an in-text citation to indicate where the information came from. I want to see your writing, not what you’ve copied and pasted from other writers. Read this helpful guide on paraphrasing. At least 80% of your assignment needs to be in your own words.  Make sure that you give each slide a title so it is clear which slides are focused on challenges and which slides are focused on recommendations and suggestions. Be sure to include images or graphics to make your slides visually appealing.

How are you going to work to change the policy/problem (i.e., plan for social advocacy)? • How will your efforts address the policy/social problem described?

Assignment:

Putting Social Advocacy Skills into Action

Writing a proposal that functions as a focus of change is a significant part of being a social worker/policy advocate. This is your opportunity to use your advocacy skills to change and improve the lives of others.

In this Assignment, you write a proposal for some form of social advocacy that will seek to change a social, organizational, or legislative policy. The proposal may also involve advocacy for the amelioration of a social problem. The purpose of this assignment is to thoughtfully and thoroughly plan how you will advocate changing a social problem or policy that is of interest to you.

The policy practice/advocacy can take whatever form you wish and can be on any level: agency, community, state, or federal. You will submit a prospectus (3–4 pages) that describes the problem that is being addressed and the expected advocacy activities.

Submit your assignment.

Be specific when describing the social problem or policy you would like to change and address the following:

• If you selected a policy, when was the policy enacted, by whom, and for what reason?

• How are you going to work to change the policy/problem (i.e., plan for social advocacy)?

• How will your efforts address the policy/social problem described?

• Is continued policy practice/advocacy needed to make a long-term impact? Why or why not?

The prospectus will need to be well researched and written using APA guidelines. Data should come from at least five sources.

Make sure that your assertions are supported by appropriate research and reputable resources.
