The warfare was in evolution even in the age of Napoleon. He had cleverly noticed the problems of sustenance and movement of armies in the battlefield and he took advantage of it. He had increased the mobility of the armies and had applied his creative tactics in the art of warfare, especially in the quick formation of army combinations. His creativity and insight into the affairs of War tactics had won him great victories. Critics believe that Napoleon’s victory lies mainly to his ability in synthesizing and exploiting the developments made by others. He did not rely on personal novelties. rather he tried to gain concepts from the war tactics applied by others. This approach ended the earlier “force employment, as opposed to weapons technology or logistical means”3. “Napoleon was about action. he did not share Jomini’s focus on principles”.4 To him, war was what is done in the battlefield, not in books. Though napoleon had not proposed a definite theory of War as his main concern was application of tactics, Jomini and Clausewitz have interpreted his actions and strategic aims to lay a basis for modern art and science of war. They had studied the operational circumstances and strategies applied by napoleon and they had added the active factors in the theory and art of war operations: pivotal points, main focus, climax, etc. Operational Arts “Operational arts” is a modern concept that deals with the conception and execution of military operations through the direction of military forces for particular strategic intentions. The whole operation involves the combining of the forces and allocating of the assets to planned units. Thus, it forms a bridge between strategy and tactics by building an association between the aims of war and the actual fight in it, and seeks to attain a level between these. Napoleonic Impact on Operational Arts Many critics believe that the origin of the concept of operational arts lie back to eighteenth century with the theorists belonging to “the Soviet inter-war”. However until recently, this term referred to only a combination of activities performed in the battlefield, such as: defining the routes of attack, scavenging and stocking, and barriers along with the growth of overall mans, unceasing processes athwart manifold battles of war, and the distribution of power among dogmatic and armed leaders. She buys a sewing machine and starts stitching clothes and tries to become engaged in some productive work. In due course, she romantically gets involved with Karim and this gives her a new life. After getting intimate with Karim, a new energy sparks in Nazneen and she perceives life in a different way. She discovers herself after coming in contact with the handsome and young Karim. Nazneen become more lively, energetic and even her family notices the positive change in her. In the article author writes that” The promise of inclusion for young, working-class Muslim Bangladeshi women remains an unfulfilled project in contemporary Britain”. Write a 250 word paper answering; Greatest Challenge to Democracy Greatest Challenge to Democracy After the First World War, there were cries for changes in the manner in which countries were run. It was impossible to have a region that did not have problems stemming from leadership. Dictatorship was a problem in parts of Cuba and Russia. The theories that were present at the time on the division of wealth became a problem for many people. National Socialism and Soviet Communism were presented to the people to dictate how people could relate and behave toward each other (Blamires & Jackson, 2006). This paper will examine which method was a challenge to democracy during that time, and how democracy has evolved through time.

National Socialism was an immense problem to democracy after World War I. Fascism, as it was referred to, was a problem because it dictated that the nation and race was to be placed above an individual (Blamires & Jackson, 2006). It ensured that the ultimate authority rested upon the shoulders of dictatorship. Dictators had power over everything. People were economically and socially suppressed during this time as both theories seemed to want superiority over the other.

Democracy cannot survive in such an environment. Fascism was, therefore, an enormous challenge for democracy. The unity of a nation was to be based on culture and traditions, and ties to ancestry that were interpersonal (Blamires & Jackson, 2006). It presents a problem to any social order that wants to mature and develop in ways that enable progression among its people. Progression solely depends on how societies relate to one another, and their leaders in society.

In conclusion, fascism has no place in modern society. People need to rise above traditional and ancient methods of living (Blamires & Jackson, 2006). The recent uprisings that saw nations rise against dictatorship is one way to prove that forcing people to live under forced regiments is no way to rule. Democracy will always triumph against unjust rulers who are unfit to rule.

The Genoese and Portuguese were known for their typical way of going in search of merchandise opportunities and trade adventures (Symcox and Sullivan, 43-44). This is also viewed by historians as a continuation of the “Reconquista” which was the period when Christian Kingdoms re-conquered the Iberian peninsula from the Muslim rulers. Exploring alien lands and conquering them after calling the people of those lands barbarians, had become a historical custom of sorts. It was on the riches that looted from those alien lands that European kingdoms prospered to rule the world. It can be logically concluded that Columbus and his voyages were the products of all these influences.

There is also another less moronic aspect to the Columbian voyages in history. The celebration of Columbian voyages became an occasion of festivity in Europe and America for many decades because it was part of the expansion of the horizon for humanity’s understanding of the world. All the injustices attached to these voyages were hidden beneath the bright picture of the culmination of an exploratory tradition that humanity had started centuries back. This exploration was legendary indeed. Hence, the Columbian voyages also had rightful credit to a part of the legacy.

The Columbian voyages were a continuation of that great human history itself. In that sense, its lineage can be traced back even to the primitive ages when Homo sapiens migrated from Africa to the American continents. Columbian voyages also had a link of continuity with the maritime history of the world which expanded human knowledge and prosperity.
