• At the beginning of the semester we discussed how the change from nomadic hunter-herder societies changed the shape of human relations. Among other things we talked about the Agricultural Revolution brought about the evolution of social classes. Use your essay to discuss how the warrior/aristocrat class gained its power and outline some of the expectations that class was expected to uphold. Then, using the Mandate of Heaven, the Land of Ghana, the Song of Roland, and the Ideal Samurai, discuss how each of these societies specifically evaluated its leadership class.

The First Horseman) and compare the European response in the 14
^th century to those of peoples in the Americas, India, or China.
