Great Gatsby Chapter 7

The Great Gatsby
Assignment: Write about a section of Chapter 7 (1-3 pages) from the point of view of Myrtle
Wilson, Daisy Buchanan, Tom Buchanan, Jay Gatsby, George Wilson, Jordan Baker, or a minor
character. Compose a creative writing piece (1-2 typed pages) in the form of a diary entry,
letter, narrative poem, song, newspaper article, etc.
Before you begin writing, imagine what your character feels and thinks based on the events in
the novel and the prior knowledge you have of the character. Do not forget that you are writing
in the voice of the character, not your own.
Include 2 quotations from the chapter. You may make minor changes to the quotations to make
sure they fit into your writing piece.

Myrtle writes a letter to George asking for a divorce.
Tom writes a letter of apology to Daisy.
Gatsby writes a song for Daisy.
A reporter writes an article about the accident.
