Provide a brief description of the subject of this case (gender, age, occupation, and other relevant characteristics).
Calculate your subject’s BMI (or use Table I in Appendix A 3rd Edition Summerfield text) and measure waist circumference. Use Table 2-2 to estimate the health risk associated with the waist circumference and BMI.
For a person of your subject’s gender and height, compare the recommended weight from 1959 and 1983 Metropolitan height/weight tables in Appendix A of your text.
Comment on any apparent contradiction between recommended weight from height/weight tables and BMI health risk category.
Part II. Continue this case study with the same subject from Part I. You or your subject should keep an activity record using the form in Table 2 of Appendix B. Following the directions to keep track of daily activity and calculate caloric expenditure. Perform the calculations required to determine the caloric value of 0.9-9 METs. If your subject has a fitness tracker, have them weight it while awake and exercising, trying to keep track of steps/calories burned.
