Coaching Difficult Leaders

Write a paper of 2,000-2,500 words in which you discuss coaching and  how to handle leaders who do not want coaching. Address the following:

  1. Describe needed competencies for a leadership coach and include a rationale for why these competencies are important.
  2. Depict three types of difficult leaders and how you would handle the challenges of coaching them.
  3. How does a leader’s style influence how challenges are handled?
  4. Discuss how you would handle a toxic leader.

An explanation of why you think that the agency created a plan to evaluate the program

Statistical analysis software is a valuable tool that helps researchers perform the complex calculations. However, to use such a tool effectively, the study must be well designed. The social worker must understand all the relationships involved in the study. He or she must understand the study’s purpose and select the most appropriate design. The social worker must correctly represent the relationship being examined and the variables involved. Finally, he or she must enter those variables correctly into the software package. This assignment will allow you to analyze in detail the decisions made in the “Social Work Research: Chi Square” case study and the relationship between study design and statistical analysis. Assume that the data has been entered into SPSS and you’ve been given the output of the chi-square results. (See Week 4 Handout: Chi-Square findings).

Submit a 1-page paper of the following:

An analysis of the relationship between study design and statistical analysis used in the case study that includes:

  • An explanation of why you think that the agency created a plan to evaluate the program

An explanation of why the social work agency in the case study chose to use a chi square statistic to evaluate whether there is a difference between those who participated in the program and those who did not (Hint: Think about the level of measurement of the variables)

  • A description of the research design in terms of observations (O) and interventions (X) for each group.

  • Interpret the chi-square output data. What do the data say about the program?Week 4 Handout: Chi-Square Findings

The chi square test for independence is used to determine whether there is a relationship between the two variables that are categorical in the level of measurement. In this case, the variables are: employment level and treatment condition. It tests whether there is a difference between groups. The research question for the study is: Is there a relationship between the independent variable, treatment, and the dependent variable, employment level? In other words, is there a difference in the number of participants who are not employed, employed part-time and employed full-time in the program and the control group (i.e., waitlist group)? The hypotheses are:

H0 (The null hypothesis): There is no difference in the proportions of individuals in the three employment categories between the treatment group and the waitlist group. In other words, the frequency distribution for variable 2 (employment) has the same proportions for both categories of variable 1 (program participation).

** It is the null hypothesis that is actually tested by the statistic. A chi square statistic that is found to be statistically significant, (e.g. p< .05) indicates that we can reject the null hypothesis (understanding that there is less than a 5% chance that the relationship between the variables is due to chance).

H1 (The alternative hypothesis): There is a difference in the proportions of individuals in the three employment categories between the treatment group and the waitlist group.

** The alternative hypothesis states that there is a difference. It would allow us to say that it appears that the treatment (voc rehab program) is effective in increasing the employment status of participants.

Assume that the data has been collected to answer the above research question. Someone has entered the data into SPSS. A chi-square test was conducted, and you were given the following SPSS output data:

Healthcare Delivery

I NEED IN 4 HOURS – 200 TO 250 WORDS (CHOOSE COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE FROM CHART)

Prior to beginning work on this discussion, review your textbook Chapters 5, 6, and 7, especially A Timeline of Mental Health Care in Section 6.5, and other the required readingsfor this week: Mental health parity: Where it has been and where it’s going, The business case for implementing electronic health records in primary care settings in the United States, The low risk and high return of integrative health services, and Forging a frailty-ready healthcare system to meet population ageing.

This week, you analyze the levels of care in the U.S. health care system. There are four delivery mode options. The delivery mode you will be analyzing is determined by the first initial of your last name as shown in the table below.

Delivery ModeLast Name

1

Long-Term Care

Student last name begins with A, E, J, M, R, V, Y

2

Mental Health

Student last name begins with B, F, I, N, Q, T, Z

3

Integrative Care

Student last name begins with C, G, K, O, S, X

4

Community Health Care

Student last name begins with D, H, L, P, U, W

In your initial response, begin by briefly analyzing your assigned delivery mode of care and address the following:

  • Describe the type of care this option Consider the following:
    • Explain the history of this mode and how it has evolved over time.
    • Discuss the care given via the delivery mode.
    • List two options to cover the costs of care and explain the limitations of health care insurance coverage for the delivery mode.
  • Discuss, in addition, the following components that affect the delivery of care for your assigned mode:
    • Include one ethical or legal concern.
    • Include one regulatory or accreditation requirement.
    • Include one psychosocial factor to consider (e.g., food scarcity or food desert, access to exercise, or cultural and religious concerns).

Discussion: Recognizing And Avoiding Plagiarism

What is plagiarism exactly? Is it always done on purpose? The rules related to plagiarism can be complex, and there are instances in which people who have unwittingly plagiarized have ended up in court. The concept of academic integrity includes the avoidance of plagiarism. To avoid plagiarism, it helps to first recognize it.

For this Discussion, you will review fictional scenarios that depict common occurrences in the classroom. It is an opportunity for you to practice identifying plagiarism and discussing how to avoid plagiarism in these situations.

To prepare for this Discussion:

  • Review the materials in this week’s Learning Resources.
  • Read the four scenarios presented below and, for each situation, determine whether the student has plagiarized.
  1. John has not had time to work on his online assignment on psychological theory. He found a website that has an article with the content he needs to complete his assignment. However, he has only 30 minutes before his assignment is due. John believes that the author of the article described psychological theory so well that it would take John hours to paraphrase the material. John decides to copy several sentences and one short paragraph from the article and paste it into his own paper. He includes the author in the references and believes that this appropriately cites the author.
  2. Sally has a writing assignment due. She has written about the topic before in a previous course and received 100% on that paper. She decides to include several paragraphs from her previous work in her current paper.
  3. Brad just finished submitting his writing assignment through Turnitin, and the similarity report shows a 40% match between passages he wrote and various websites.
  4. Catherine likes to include quotes from famous psychologists in her writing assignments. She does not use quotation marks, but Catherine makes sure to include the citation immediately following each quote.
  • Reflect on how the Walden resources and communication with colleagues (including your Instructor) could impact the outcome of the scenarios.
  • Choose one of the scenarios for your Discussion.

With these thoughts in mind:Post by Day 3 a description of the scenario you chose and whether you believe the student plagiarized. Explain what led you to make that determination. Provide one strategy that the student can use to avoid potential plagiarism, given the scenario presented.Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to this week’s Learning Resources.Read a selection of your colleagues’ postings.Respond by Day 5 to at least two of your colleagues, and continue the discussion through Day 7 by providing another strategy to avoid potential plagiarism, given the scenario presented.Return to this Discussion periodically to read the responses to your initial posting. Note what you have learned and/or any insights you have gained as a result of the comments your colleagues made. Remember to be supportive and build community; this is a tough topic!
