A rough draft will be due during Module 6 and a final draft will be due during Module 7. A Term Paper constitutes a written scientific paper that requires several weeks to complete. This assignment requires the development of a procedure to determine a specific goal. There are two specific projects to choose from:

1)   The Kinetics of Jello – Research both kinetics and the process of making gelatin. Using your kitchen, conduct the experiment a minimum of 5 times to accumulate data and statistics and write up your report. Note that a complete study of the kinetics of a system includes the orders of the reactants, the Rate Law and Rate constant as well as the Activation Energy (Ea ) and the Frequency Factor (A).

2)   Paper Chromatography and Intermolecular Forces of Plant Pigments – Research Plant Pigments, Chromatography and Intermolecular Forces. Using your kitchen, conduct the experiment a minimum of 5 times to accumulate data and statistics and write up your report. Note that a complete study should include at least 10 different plant types and a method by which to separate and identify them by chromatography.

Need to know a procedure for one of these experiments! This isn’t to get the paper written for me just help me with the backgrounds on the topics for my paper as well as the procedure and what results to expect.
