Discuss the selected accreditation agency related to the QIF and why the organization is seeking this particular agency for credentialing.

In Week 4, you identified some immediate areas of concern that you were able to effectively address. You must present the final phase of your improvement plan to your staff and upper-level management. You will create a presentation of 15-20 slides addressing the following areas:

In preparation for the accreditation visit for AKT, choose 1 health care accrediting and credentialing organization.

  • Select a quality improvement focus (QIF) area to improve patient outcomes in beyond the 3 issues that you identified and addressed in Week 4.
  • Discuss the selected accreditation agency related to the QIF and why the organization is seeking this particular agency for credentialing.
  • As part of the quality improvement initiative, select 3-4 related accrediting standards that the organization will use as the basis for the quality improvement plan.
  • Provide a clear mission statement and set of 3-4 specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely (SMART) goals for the QIF initiative.
  • Using the online database provided the by the organization you selected conduct an analysis.
  • Provide general statistical data related to the QIF.
  • Discuss specific health care examples of local, state, and national policies that have been developed to improve this QIF based on evidence-based practice research.
  • What internal policies do you plan to implement based on evidence-based practice approaches to ensure your organization meets these standards?
  • Develop a plan that includes strategies for your facility to improve patient outcomes regarding the QIF.
  • Describe how the QIF initiative can be incorporated to the organization’s overall strategic plan.
  • Describe how you plan to evaluate the effectiveness of the initiative.
  • Each slide will have 4-6 bullets and 100-150 words of speaker’s notes and pictures.

Define breach of PHI by the federal government’s standards including what federal laws dictate the health care organization’s responsibility to protect electronic health information

To date, a total of 804 large breaches of protected health information (PHI) affecting over 29.2 million patient’s records have been reported to the Department of Health and Human Services since 2009.

You are the Corporate Compliance Officer for your health organization and you have just been notified that an unknown party has “hacked” the main computer server and your organization’s PHI has been breached by the theft of several facility laptop computers. Over 5,000 of the patients your organization serves are impacted. As a result, you must explain to the Senior Leadership, the Board of Directors, the affected patients, and the public [a] what you plan to do about the breach and [b] howyou plan to prevent this from reoccurring.

In your report, you must include the following:

  1. Define breach of PHI by the federal government’s standards including what federal laws dictate the health care organization’s responsibility to protect electronic health information.
  2.    Explain to Leadership and the Board how this breach was allowed to occur. In other words, what went wrong and why.
  3.    Define what course of action should be taken to notify the Individual patients affected and the public of this breach that would incur the least amount of panic.  Include any federally mandated course of action.
  4.    Develop an action plan [including safeguards] to prevent a PHI Breach from reoccurring at your health organization. Include both electronic and paper safeguards.
  1. In answering these questions,
  • include any pertinent laws discussed during the class.
  • This final exam should not be more than 6 pages not including the title and references pages.
  • APA standards are required including the appropriate in-text citations.
  • A minimum of four scholarly references with in-text citations[textbook does not apply] must be used.
  • Re-state each question in its entirety as a heading for each answer.
  • A minimum of four scholarly references with in-text citations

Explain at least two ways the prefrontal and ventral striatum neural regions are associated with executive functions in emotional situations.

Farrar and Montgomery discuss executive functioning and memory development (2015), you learned about factors that influence brain development. For this assignment, you will build upon that knowledge by further investigating how the brain learns. Remember that working memory, attention, and executive functions are interconnected and are crucial to the learning process. This includes the ability for a child to pay attention, demonstrate inhibitory control, and goal-directed behavior. Children may possess varying degrees of each of these functions, but they work together to create cognitive control and flexibility. For this assignment, you will assume the role of a professional development coordinator for your state’s early childhood programs and develop a flyer titled “How the Brain Learns” that informs families about the role of working memory, attention, and executive function in learning and development. You may develop your flyer using Microsoft Word or Microsoft Publisher. Before completing this assignment, review the Week Two Instructor Guidance for additional information, resources, and support. Additionally, review the Grading Rubric for this assignment to understand how you will be evaluated and contact your instructor using the “Ask Your Instructor” discussion before the due date with questions.

In the “How the Brain Learns” flyer, include separate sections that address each of the following:

Key Words (1 point): Define working memory, attention, and executive functions.

Relationship Among Executive Functions (1 point): Using examples, discuss the relationship among the three core executive functions (i.e., working memory, inhibitory control, and set-shifting).

Development of Executive Functions: Using examples, discuss how the three core executive functions develop from infancy through age 8.

Executive Functions and Role: Examine the role the three core executive functions play in learning and development. For each of the functions, provide a specific example to support your examination.

Neural Regions and Executive Functions: Explain at least two ways the prefrontal and ventral striatum neural regions are associated with executive functions in emotional situations.

Delayed Gratification: Using examples, discuss at least two different factors that influence young children’s willingness to delay gratification.

Environmental Influences: Using examples, explain at least three environmental influences that impact executive functioning and memory.

Training of Executive Functions: Discuss at least two specific ways to help executive functions in children in the classroom.

Flyer Design: Incorporates at least three images or graphics that are related to the content of the flyer.

Length: Flyer must be at least 2 pages in length.

Source Requirement: Reference two scholarly sources in addition to the text. All sources included in the References list must be cited in the content of the flyer.

APA Formatting: Use APA formatting consistently throughout the assignment, which includes citations in the body of the assignment, the title page, and references list.

Syntax and Mechanics: Display meticulous comprehension and organization of syntax and mechanics, such as spelling and grammar.
