The assignment is to refine the focus of your project topic(“Racial and Ethnic Disparities in HIV/AIDS and pregnancy among Teens in the U.S.”) so that it clearly makes a case for taking action on the public health issue that you identified in your last assignment. Give a successful explanation as to why this public health problem is a public health issue. Come up with detailed definition(s) of public health, on the nature of health disparities. Take a look at my topic and come up with ways to make the explanation clearer or more persuasive. PSAs address one of the 10 essential public health services, to inform, educate, and empower people about health issues. Throughout this course, you will create a public service announcement (PSA) for a public health problem of your choice. For this assignment, you will begin working on your PSA by selecting the health problem and beginning your analysis of the issue.

Select a public health problem for your course project.

In 3–5 pages:

  1. Analyze the current and prospective impacts of the public health problem.

Your project will involve identifying responsible governmental agencies; describing current challenges and potential impact; proposing a public health policy; researching pertinent laws; and evaluating the ethical principles of laws/policies, financial impact, and sources of funding.

  1. Select a governmental role/responsibility in public health for your SLP. Describe the governmental role/responsibility. Identify the agencies responsible at federal, state, and local government level.
