As an advanced practice nurse caring for these patients, you must be able to recognize red flags and select age-appropriate assessment and treatment options. In this Assignment, you prepare for your role in clinical settings as you design an age-specific protocol for the diagnosis, management, and follow-up care for a common growth and development or psychosocial issue.

 

To prepare:

 

  • Reflect on the age group and the growth and development or psychosocial issue that you selected in Week 2.
  • Think about the epidemiology of the issue.
  • Consider an age-appropriate protocol for the diagnosis, management, and follow-up care of the issue you selected.

I feel it is only appropriate to offer to pray with or for victims of disasters.

I feel it is only appropriate to offer to pray with or for victims of disasters. Some people who were spiritually in doubt or anger may not want it at the time it is offered but may later as healing begins. Every one has their own way of dealing with trauma and in time those ways may change. No ones healing process is the same or requires the same amount of time to achieve.

I have cried so many times with my patients and families that i can not count them. I believe that this helps them understand that we are human and truly care. I have heard many times that people feel medical professionals have no feels or care about what happens to them. When someone has lost a loved one and comes to view their body before going to the morgue, seeing the last person who provided care to the patient crying provides comfort. Even when i tried not to cry, looking into the watery eyes of people expressing their emotional lost or fear always makes me cry. Im such a baby 🙂
