World War I,The United States

Description

After the United States entered World War I, Congress passed two national security measures, the Espionage Act of 1917 and the Sedition Act of 1918. Review the course material on World War I and the websites below. Then discuss whether the United States government was justified in limiting American civil liberties and freedom during the war. Be sure to explain your position. Also, discuss how American civil liberties have been limited during other times of national crisis (see for example information in the textbook about Japanese Internment during World War II, McCarran Internal Security Act during the Truman administration, or the Patriot Act during the Bush Administration). Do you believe the U.S. policymakers should be given a “blank check” to impose measures in the name of national security? What are the benefits and what are the risks?

After that please help me respond to the discussion board questions, respond to two of your classmates.

Create content for a blog post about the field of developmental science, as introduced in this week’s readings. Imagine this blog post would be for the website Division 7: Developmental Psychology of the American Psychological Association.

In your blog entry, be sure to address the following:

Introduce the value of developmental science.
Present an example of at least one of the defining assumptions/features of developmental inquiry.
Identify and explain one developmental issue in each of the major life periods:

  1. Childhood
  2. Adolescence
  3. Adulthood

Support your blog post with at least five scholarly sources.
