Persuasive Health Campaign Message

In our busy world of constant communication, where we are bombarded by information and messages and needs, how do you cut through that noise to get peoples attention? How do you influence people to watch and listen to what you have to say, even if the topic is not one they have thought about before? How do you persuade them to take the action you request? That is your challenge and goal for this Discussion.

The issue is healthcare in rural areas of the United States. Your first task will be to educate yourself on the needs of people in these areas. If you live in an urban area, you may not be aware of the degree to which place informs resources available and access to those resources. Being poor and underserved in a rural area increases the needs of these residents. Consider this finding from the 2010 National Healthcare Quality and Disparities Reports: Despite improvements, differences persist in health care quality among racial and ethnic minority groups. People in low-income families also experience poorer quality care. (AHRQ, 2014, para.1)

Put on your advocacy hat, and remember the Walden University outcome to facilitate positive social change. The media message that you develop could impact services in a rural county where you live or in your state, now or in the future.

For this Discussion you will respond to the following scenario:

Imagine that you are an employee in the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) of your county. Your department is launching a campaign to increase quality services to the underserved in your community. You are tasked with developing a media message that HHSA will disseminate to the public, with the goal of persuading people to donate money for a mobile screening bus that can travel to rural areas of the county and reach underserved individuals and families.

To prepare:

  • Review the Week 6 Learning Resources. In particular, review the article Behind Advertising: The Language of Persuasion for specific principles and strategies to use in developing your media message.
  • Consider the wording of the media message to include in your Discussion.
  • Consider the ethics of your message and how it adheres to the code of ethics for human services professionals or other codes of ethics of particular interest to you, and to ethical guidelines for advertising.

By Day 3

Post responses to the following:

  • Present the text of your media message.
  • Explain the principles and strategies you used to develop the message, and your reasoning.
  • Justify how your media message is ethical by referencing specific codes of ethics and other resources.

Request For Proposal (RFP)

Assignment

This assignment is designed to help you analyze the infrastructure design solution proposal process. The purpose is to see what the vendor is reading and understanding from an RFP that you may have written. In this assignment, you will select a Request for Proposal (RFP) from the 4 RFP files located at the top of this assignment page, examine it carefully as though you were a contractor or vendor considering responding to the RFP to provide goods/services, and then reply to a series of questions below.

After selecting one of the RFPs, carefully examine the RFP for content, thoroughness, and intent; then reply to all the questions. You will conduct your review from the vendors perspective.

Your assignment should be 3-4 pages in length (in APA format) and should answer all of the following questions. You are not required to use additional sources, but if you use any, please cite them.

1. Give a brief synopsis of the RFP including what goods/services are being requested and your assessment of the RFP for completeness, format, structure, and other general descriptors. Be concise but informative.

2. Can you clearly understand the need for this proposal? Are there any major concerns you see after reviewing the proposal? Is there anything that you think is missing from the RFP that should have been included? Is it missing important information or sections? Does it contain a timeline/schedule for completion? Are the evaluation criteria included?

3. Is there anything about the RFP that you really like or that provides details that would benefit your company in deciding on whether to bid or not?

4. Describe one major take away from reviewing this RFP. Dont forget that you are doing this from the perspective of the vendor. This take away can be something related to the actual RFP itself such as its content, structure, or format or it can be related to a general take away on the proposal development process.

Discussion Question Due In A.M Related To Medicare Reimbursement.

Looking for assistance with a discussion question that requires a quality response covering all aspects of the question. APA formatting, and a thorough understanding of Medicare reimbursement writing as an Advance Practice RN.Would need this completed by 4:00 a.m. MST. 2/13/2020. Very short notice due to unforseen work emergency.

There are several subtopics under the rubric of reimbursement to be covered this week:

Understanding Medicare reimbursement and incident to is paramount to an APN’s career (NOTE: Strictly speaking the term incident to is a Medicare expression.  While some commercial insurance companies and some states’ Medicaid plans might mimic this practice, they do not necessarily require all of the associated Medicare criteria.)

The first question you must address is: Should the organization use incident to billing?  Why or why not?  In other words, you first need to explain what Medicare requires for an organization to legitimately bill incident to.  Next you need to explain whether incident to billing makes financial sense for your organization in light of Medicare criteria. Be sure to read the Buppert and Nagelkerk assignments carefully before you compose an answer.  Finally, also  based on those reading assignments, briefly share some thoughts about billing Medicaid and commercial insurance companies for APN services.

The next topic concerns how your organization can avoid Medicare fraud and abuse when using APNs; specifically regarding the Stark Acts:  What do you and the APNs in your organization have to know about this?
