1. After reading “A Line in the Sand: Countering Crime, Violence and Terror at the Southwest Border,” discuss the threats we face at the Southwest Border and the influence of transnational crime and terror organizations associated with the fight against narcotics, terrorism, and spillover violence.

2. Please critique in detail the fight against drug related violence and terror on the Southwest Border of the United States. In doing so, also list and discuss the three points keyed in on by Kingpins and corruption (2017), which is part of this week’s readings.

Election Of 1932 Discussion – 200 Words

 Visit the following website, and read the essay about the presidential election of 1932. Click on some of the links to learn more about the candidates and the issues. 

  

 Then write a post on the course discussion board in the form of a campaign speech advocating either Republican Herbert Hoover or Democrat Franklin Roosevelt. Be sure to discuss 1) why your chosen candidates’ policies are the best ones, 2) why your candidates’ personal qualities and experience will make him an effective president, and 3) why his opponent’s policies are undesirable. (There are no right or wrong choices here, just arguments made more or less effectively!)
