Research a carcinogen that can be classified as either an environmental or occupational toxicant that has had relevance in the news within the last five years.

In your paper, analyze and briefly summarize the situation that brought the carcinogen to newsworthy status. Discuss the exposure limits of this carcinogen, and how individuals were exposed. Also, discuss the toxicological effects that were not only observed, but all of the possible effects of this agent. In referencing Chapter 23 from your assigned reading, briefly discuss the models used for assessing cancer risks.

Your analysis should be at least three pages in length. The title page and reference page are not included in the required paper length. Your paper must contain at least three references and may include reliable internet sources, books, and professional journals or resources related to the profession. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations.

Write a seven to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:

  1. Propose the value proposition of the product or service the business will offer and explain the rationale.
  2. Outline the competitive market and the industry in which the business will operate.
  3. Determine at least two (2) strategies of each for protecting the following:
    1. the branding
    2. the logo
    3. the product technology
  4. Suggest methods to test the product idea for feasibility.
  5. Suggest at least three (3) strategies to incentivize the founding management team.
  6. Estimate the amount of cash needed to start the business. Provide a rationale to support your estimation.
  7. Use at least three (3) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.

Soft Skills And Your Career

For this assignment, do some research regarding your potential career. In addition to researching your career, look at job ads for positions in your career field. What soft skills are needed for this career? What soft skills are companies looking for?

Next, look back at the soft skills that we discussed in the Week 2 discussion. What soft skills did you find to be applicable to you? How can you use these soft skills in your future? Which soft skills do you have that will make you an ideal candidate for your career field?

Write an IWG-formatted paper about:

  1. Your current soft skills – Looking at the lists of soft skills you’ve researched, which ones do you consider current strengths? Why are they strengths to your future career?
  2. At least three soft skills you need to work on – Why these soft skills? What will they provide you in your new career?
  3. How you will learn the soft skills you identified – What is your specific plan to develop these skills? How will you measure your progress?

The body (written text) of the paper should be at least 600 words in length&mdashnot including the title page and the reference page.

The paper should have at least five (5) paragraphs including an introduction paragraph and conclusion paragraph. The introduction paragraph tells the reader what you plan to tell them. The conclusion paragraph summarizes what you’ve told them.Make sure to use in-text citations for any and all information that you borrowed from the resources you used for your research (both quoted and paraphrased), and list the resources on your reference page. A minimum of two sources is required for this assignment. You can think of the in-text citations as the clues on a treasure map and the reference on the reference page as the actual treasure. The point of doing it this way is to let the reader stay focused on reading the paper. They can check the references later to verify the reference is valid and to gain additional insight into the topic. Each source you use will have at least one in-text citation in the paper and the source information in the reference page.

Colorado Springs Company’s Internal Control

Colorado Springs Company (CSC) is a wholesaler with fiscal year ended December 31 of previous year. Since it is publicly-traded, it undergoes external audit. The most recent audit was completed in February of this year. As part of the audit of the financial statements, the auditors tested the effectiveness of   management’s assessment of internal control over financial reporting. The auditor found out that existing internal controls were inadequate. Specifically, CSC’s accounting system for sales, cash receipts, accounts receivables, and accounts payable had material weakness. The audit revealed that there were:

  • Poor accounting system of recording keeping
  • Late deposits of cash receipts
  • Excessive aged and high accounts receivable balances
  • Disregard for early payments for discounts on invoices
  • Late payments of accounts payable (sometimes due to lack of cash)
  • Lax appropriate segregation of duties
  • Relaxed rules on accounting principles’ application
  • Unqualified supervisor and management
  • Inadequate control on supervisor and management overrides
  • Lax oversight by external board of directors
  1. For each finding above, indicate internal control principle that CSC violated.
  2. For each finding above, provide an appropriate recommendation for CSC to correct the weakness.
