Chapter 5: Gender (Sociology of the family)

This forum entails material from Chapter 5.  What do you think are the greatest gender role differences in how males versus females are expected to behave in society?  Where do the greatest conflicts occur based on these socialized differences?  What macro level and micro level solutions do you recommend for decreasing this conflict, especially when it leads to the types of problems discussed in the section on educational and occupational segregation at the end of the chapter?
