Schools In America

Do you think that teaching is really “America’s Most Embattled Profession”? The Teacher Wars describes many conflicts between teachers, administrators and communities over the history of American education and explains how education  has been caught in the crossfire during periods of  political and social conflict. Identify two situations reflecting this conflict, one from the 1800s and another from the 1900s that seemed especially significant to you.  Do you think that these issues are still significant in American education today?
