Read chapter 1 of the book “Juvenile Justice”, watch slideshow 1 & 2, and read the handout 2012 Cardozo L. Rev. de novo 304 : JUVENILE JUSTICE POLICY FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS.
After you complete read all of the above. You need answer the following questions:
1) Discuss the differences among states and international law in the legal definition of juvenile.
2) Is it fair that juveniles in some states are treated as adults at a younger age than in other states?
3) What happens with youth who cross state lines and commit a crime?
4) What should happen to children below the lower age limit who commit criminal offenses?
