This assignment examines the relationship between Executive and Legislative Branches and how that impacted presidential ability to project American Will in the international environment.

 

In writing this 6-8 pg. paper you will:

 

1. Demonstrate an understanding of the growth and development of the Executive Branch leadership by looking at the dynamics between the president and Congress in the period from the founding to the Spanish-American War.

2. Students should focus on: 1) How presidents pursued international relations. 2) How presidents were able to project force. 3) Congressional restrictions on presidential actions. Students may choose the president of their choice.

3. Describe at least 1 historical example and how the relationship between the 2 bodies impacted the outcome of the example. (write at least 1000 words, and no more than 1200 words)

4. Provide new thoughts related to this topic. (Write at least 200 words). In this section, you will give your opinion in the form of new insights that you gained about the balance between the two branches of government. Your new insight needs to show a progression of critical thinking and analysis with biblical integration in arriving at your new paradigm

· This paper must include at least 8 references.

· The introduction and conclusion sections should not be longer than ½ page each unless the paper is at least 2,000 words long not including cover page, abstract page, table pf contents page and reference page.

· Citations should accompany each written assignment thesis statement, paragraph topic sentences, and supporting statements of fact and opinion.
