Comment On The First Book Of Kafka’s Metamorphosis.
The first book gives us the plight of Gregor Samsa, who awakens from sleep to find himself transformed into a bug. Despite this dramatic change, he is only focused on his job as a salesman and how he won’t be able to complete his tasks and satisfy the expectations of his employers and also the family he must support. This extreme situation makes us reflect on the strength of the grip of work on our lives. Notice, also, the references to time, as Gregor’s thoughts are detailed in this passage.
