  •   Write a 6-page double spaced paper on a mental disorder of your choice.
  •   Discuss the role that culture plays in the prevalence, diagnosis, understanding(attribution), and/or treatment of that disorder.
  •   “Culture” can include gender, race/ethnicity, nationality, religion, socioeconomic status,and/or disability status.
  •   A minimum of 5 peer-reviewed, scholarly references must be included, and none of them may be on-line references (except for journal articles retrieved on-line).
  •   Papers should include a cover sheet, an abstract, and reference list. This is in addition to the 6 pages of text.
  •   Paper must be written in a writing format of your choice, (APA, MLA, etc). Use what you are most comfortable using. Sample Paper Outline – “XYZ Disorder”

      2. Who suffers from the disorder? Diagnostic information.
      3. Prevalence
      4. Bio, Psycho, Social explanations of Etiology
      5. Explain what your paper will be exploring
    2. Role of Sociocultural Issues (Gender, Race/Ethnicity, Nationality, Religion, Socioeconomic status, Disability Status).
      1. Prevalence
      2. Diagnosis
      3. Understanding (attribution)
      4. Treatment of the disorder
    *Note – this will likely take up the bulk of your paper
    1. Discussion – what can be concluded by this information? What areas might future research focus on? What are the clinical implications of your findings (meaning, how this information can be applied in a treatment setting or for treatment).
    2. Conclusion – Summing it all up.
