short story
Prompt: This assignment gives you to adapt a story from another source into a “Diagnosis†column. Please refer to “Diagnosing with Dickens†(included under files) as a way to get ideas for using fictional characters as patients. You may also base your column on an episode of reality television, like Dr. Pimplepopper. Take careful notice of the way Sanders structures her stories. See if you can mimic her tone, and feel free to reuse or invent medical personnel if none are featured in your original tale.
Alternatively, you have the option of adapting a diagnosis column into another medium: a film, a short story, an episode of television, a song, a comic book, a painting–use your imagination.

Order Paper NowAfter writing your column or your adaptation, please write two or three paragraphs reflecting on your process in translating the story from one medium into another. This section of the paper should refer directly to and cite both Sanders and whatever story you have adapted, following MLA guidelines. You can separate the sections by simply leaving a space between the end of your column and the beginning of your reflection. Finally, you will need an MLA Work Cited page at the end of your paper.
