Assignment: Senior Center Visit and Journal
 
Choose a local senior center to visit. A senior center is a place for “healthy” older adults living independently in the community, who come together for services and activities. E-mail your choice of senior center to your instructor to get approval before your visit.
 
Arrange a visit by contacting the center director. The visit should be a minimum of 3 hours. If possible, meet with the director to find out information about the center, such as cost to join, cost of lunch, exercise programs, educational programs, transportation to and from the center, and activities offered at the center.
 
Engage in Conversation with clients on what they enjoy most about the center.
 
Write a journal entry on your visit including the following:

Your impression of the center
Connect to an article; Literary connection Comparison
A reflection on what you gained from the visit
