What specific immune cells would be activated by the CD4+ T helper cells in response to an allergic response to pollen? How will these cells be used to inactivate the pollen?

4) Use the questions below to help you briefly describe the process by which the parts of the 3rd line of defense would work together to target extracellular pollen. Be sure to provide a BRIEF 1 sentence explanation of each part’s function.

CD4+ T helper cells will secrete IL-4 cytokines, which activates B cells. B cells become plasma cells and secrete antibodies to inactivate pollen. CD4+ T helper cells also activate mast cells and basophils. Mast cells inactivate pollen through phagocytosis, while basophils respond to the allergic reaction by releasing histamine to dilate bronchioles and counteract the effects of the pollen.

4b) What chemicals (list specific enzymes or antibodies: IgA, IgE, IgG, IgM) would be produced by the cells listed in question 4a? Assume that the pollen is OUTSIDE the cells within the respiratory tract.

**this is my guess so far. Is there anything else beside IgE for part B and any edits to part A?
