I’m working on a writing exercise and need a sample draft to help me study.Purpose
The purpose of constructing a context map is to place what we know about development in
different contexts into the big picture framework of Hinde (1992). This will clarify the
linkages between individuals and their contexts that lead to developmental outcomes.
The assignment
Students will map what they have read and learned about any one of the contexts covered in
class (other than the one provided in the sample). A sample context map will be provided.
It will include ideas shown through a diagram and a two-page description not including the
title and reference pages.

Grading criteria for the context map
1. Accuracy: The extent to which the ideas noted accurately describe what we know from
research (see assigned readings)
2. Clarity: The extent to which ideas are presented clearly
3. Insight: The extent to which the writing reflects a deep understanding of the concepts
covered in class
4. Language: Effective communication through fluent language that is free of spelling,
punctuation, and grammatical errors. Words are chosen for their precise meaning and
specificity. Sentences are varied and focused and not long and rambling.
5. Format: All APA as well as well as those specific to the assignment are met completely. Requirements: 2 pages
