While the future of the civil aviation system is uncertain, airport managers must plan for the future. Ideas abound on what future airports will look like, how they’ll operate, and the type of aircraft flying into them. After watching “NextGen Gate to Gate (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.” (scroll through the menu for NextGen videos to locate it) to see how the FAA foresees NextGen technologies changing aircraft operations both on the ground and in the air. Consider the implications to airports. What about the behemoth A-380 and Boeing 787 aircraft? How do you foresee commercial airports accommodating them as they seek to enter more travel markets?
