Order Description:Proposal
My study will be centered around the impact of microaggression on Pre-K to 12th grade students and why it is not being studied as much as it is in college students. As kids we are taught to dismiss unruly comments and actions with lines such as “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” However, those that teach us these ideas fail to realize that words and actions, whether intentional or unintentional, can sometimes cut deeper than a knife, leaving you scarred so bad that dismissing the situation with a simple line is simply not enough to help patch the verbal abuse one has encountered. Even the smallest of encounters, verbal or physical, play a part in the mental abuse microaggressions bestows upon both children and adults alike. But was is microaggressions? Microaggressions can be defined as “small”, everyday exchanges intended to degrade minorities. (Sue & Constantine, 2007, p.137).
While scholars have recently focused on the impact of microaggressions on college students, less is known about the prevalence of microaggressions in K-12 classrooms and their impact on students. Why has this not been studied further, as the severity is equal to or possibly more harmful to children than young adult college students. As a parent and one that struggled with microaggression earlier in my academic career, this scares me and should be brought to the light so that the impact can be channeled into a positive outlook rather than a strain on a child’s mental health. To bring fourth evidence for my argument I plan on using academic literature review research.
Attached you will find a paper I have already done but would like to expand on for my senior seminar paper which by the end of this process will have to be a totally of 25 pages (counting my cover page, table of content and reference page) today however I am only focusing on Chapter 1 on my paper which is:

5. Purpose of the Project
6. Theory
7. Research question
8. Definitions
Based on my proposal and the paper I already have I would like to create chapter 1 of my senior seminar paper. Which I believe should amount to about 6 pages.
I have also attached to the research paper guideline handbook. Which is pretty much the senior seminar paper bible. It is a complete breakdown for the entire paper. But all you have to focus on is what is needed for “Chapter 1”
Lastly the paper has to written in APA 7th edition.
