For this assignment, you will apply a definition of creativity to five
(middle school students)  students and align their outcomes to this definition.

  1. First, define creativity. Please cite appropriate research theories in your definition.
  2. Second, specify how you will assess creativity based on your definition.
  3. Third, observe your student and take note of their behaviors, interactions, conversations, learning, and/or work. For younger students, you can observe them during play. For older students, you can observe them during social or extra-curricular activities.

Special Education Presentation

Special educators need to understand how to include and engage general educators in the IEP process. They also need to have a firm understanding of the research behind inclusive classrooms for special education students, the benefits of inclusion settings, and their potential drawbacks.

Refer to and utilize the “Individualized Education Program (IEP) Blank Template” and the “New York City Board of Education Individualized Education Program Blank Template” as needed to inform the topic assignment.

Create a 15-20 slide digital presentation for professional development for general education teachers on the topics of IEPs, inclusive classrooms, and team teaching. Your digital presentation should include graphics that are relevant to the content, visually appealing, and use space appropriately. Address the following within the presentation:

  • Explain each major section of an IEP, specifically discuss where teachers can locate accommodations that are needed in the classroom setting.
  • Describe what an inclusive classroom setting looks like and when it may be the most beneficial setting for students with disabilities. Include specific examples of students with disabilities being appropriately placed in an inclusive setting.
  • Explain the importance of culturally responsive teaching and include three examples of culturally responsive instructional strategies that could be employed in the inclusive classroom setting.
  • Describe three team teaching models and discuss the benefits and drawbacks of each.
  • Include a title slide, reference slide, and presenter’s notes.

Support your presentation with a minimum of three scholarly resources.

While APA format is not required for the body of the assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

This assignment uses a rubric. Review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

For this experiment, begin by reading the Introduction and Procedure.  Use the procedure to follow along with the video to record your data and observations.  Along with the video, there are also images where you will find your specific sample information.  Find the images attached.  That is your marbles sample.  Everyone will use the same image of the empty beaker on the balance to be used for the weighing by difference calculation.  Once you have calculated your sample’s density, post the density into the discussion board.  You will then use other classmates’ density results to complete the analyses.  Please do not wait until the last minute as you and your classmates are dependent on each other to complete this experiment.  Be considerate.  Assignments due for this module are the Data Collection and Results Pages, Post-lab Assignment, and Quiz.

Foundation Of Family And Consumer Science

 This week we will discuss careers in family and consumer sciences. AFTER reading Chapters 6 – 9 of the textbook, please describe and discuss your thoughts on your career interests. What do you see yourself doing with your degree? What tasks should you be working on right now to help ensure your success in you desired career? Can you see yourself working within any of the fields mentioned in the chapters so far?  

You will be able to express your educated opinion (meaning that your words are based on concepts/research/facts) as you respond to the assigned prompt. Your grade is based on your ability to share your thoughts in a thoughtful, polite, and civil manner. You are also expected to respond to at least one of your classmates about their post. It is expected that all posts and responses will be respectful and professional in nature. This is a skill that you absolutely must have to be successful in our digital world. 

Don’t forget: Your initial response should be a minimum of 150 words and you need to respond to AT LEAST ONE of your peers with comments similar to those you would contribute in class (this is practice for the rest of the semester).
