Write Section 5 of the DAA. Discuss the conclusions of the factorial ANOVA as it relates to the research question.

In this assignment, you will use IBM SPSS to conduct a two-way factorial ANOVA. Use the data file caffeineexercisehr.sav  in the Resources. Refer to page 544 of your Warner text for context of  this imaginary study. Use the Data Analysis and Application (DAA)  Template in the Resources to write up your assignment. Do not consider  this template to be the final word on writing your paper or APA style  and formatting. Be sure to consult the Capella Graduate Online Writing  Center link provided in the resources.

Step 1. Write Section 1 of the DAA. Provide context  for the caffeineexercisehr.sav data set. Include a definition of the  specified variables, including factors, levels of each factor, and the  outcome variable. Define the corresponding scales of measurement for  each variable. Specify the sample size of the data set.

Step 2. Write Section 2 of the DAA. Analyze the  assumptions of the factorial ANOVA. Paste the SPSS histogram output for  heart rate and discuss your visual interpretations. Paste SPSS  descriptives output showing skewness and kurtosis values for heart rate  and interpret them (i.e., values of 0 are perfectly normal; values  between +/- 1 are ideal; values +/- 2 are acceptable; values beyond +/- 2  are a potential violation). Report the results of the Levene test and  interpret it. Summarize whether or not the assumptions of the factorial  ANOVA are met.

Step 3. Write Section 3 of the DAA. Specify a  research question related to the factorial ANOVA. Articulate the null  hypothesis and alternative hypothesis for Factor A, Factor B, and the A x interaction. Specify the alpha level.

Step 4. Write Section 4 of the DAA.

  • To provide context, begin by reporting the grand mean on Y, the means of Y for both main effects (A, B) and the means of the interaction ( A*B). You may paste SPSS output of these descriptive statistics, but you should also report them in the narrative.
  • Next, paste SPSS output of the A*B cell means plot on Y. Designate Factor A on the horizontal axis and separate lines for Factor B. Provide a visual interpretation of this graph in terms of possible main effects and an interaction.
  • Then paste the SPSS output for the factorial ANOVA. Report the results for both main effects and the interaction, including F, degrees of freedom, the F value, the p  value, a calculation of effect size, and interpretation of the effect  size (calculate and report simple eta squared; do not use partial eta  squared from SPSS output).
  • For each factor and the interaction, also report SPSS calculations  of observed power and interpret them in terms of Type II error.
  • Finally, for each factor and the interaction, interpret the results against the null hypotheses articulated in Section 3.

Step 5. Write Section 5 of the DAA. Discuss the  conclusions of the factorial ANOVA as it relates to the research  question. Conclude with an analysis of the strengths and limitations of  one-way ANOVA.

Psychological Testing And Assessment Selection Paper

Write a paper (1,000-1,250 words) about the selection of the appropriate psychological test and/or assessment. Answer each of the following three questions:

  1. What resources are available to assist counselors in the selection of the appropriate psychological tests and/or assessments for a client?
  2. What are four to five important diagnostic factors a counselor should consider when selecting a psychological test for a client?
  3. How can a counselor determine that a specific test is the appropriate test for a client’s demographics?

Include at least four scholarly references in addition to the textbook in your paper.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. Refer to the directions in the Student Success Center.

Jessica and Jonathan are best friends.

about 100-150 words each

3.  Jessica and Jonathan are best friends. Jessica is very individualistic, while Jonathan is very collectivistic. Based on research regarding primary and secondary control, describe the relationship between the amount of anxiety they would feel based on how much personal control they have in any given situation.

4.  Your school’s counseling department emphasizes the importance of convincing people to gain control by asserting themselves in their environment. Regardless of one’s cultural background, everyone feels a greater sense of power when changing the environment to suit himself or herself. Based on empirical research, do you agree with your counseling department’s perspective? Why or why not?

The Human Brain: Major Structures and Functions (5:05)

In Module One, you were introduced to the mind-brain problem, where psychologists consider how the brain and the non-physical mind may impact or control behavior. Another important concept in psychology is understanding how the brain develops and changes, and what aids in these changes. Because the field of cognitive neuroscience examines the brain through imaging methods, it is an area of psychology that is poised to answer some of these questions. After completing this week’s readings, answer the following questions: How can current research in cognitive neuroscience be applied to understanding different problems in psychology, including the mind-brain problem and questions concerning brain development and change? How do you think modern imaging methods have helped us understand the brain and solve problems in psychology? Be sure to support your answers with information from the readings.
