Critique Navy Research On Oil Prices

(ASSIGNMENT SHOULD BE ATTACHED)

THIS IS NOT A SUMMARY… Your critiques are limited to 300 words. Good critiques are lean, crisp and, above all, illuminating. Good critiques also stand on their own-not requiring the reader to be intimately familiar with the analysis.

The following will help you get started:

After reading the work, and before you begin to write, try to fit the analysis into proper context. Keep in mind the setting in which a decision maker-the analysis’s and its critique’s consumer-will view the work.

Next, identify the key assumptions that underlie The work Identify them explicitly (sometimes the author will help you), and decide the degree to which you agree or disagree to which you agree or disagree substantially with any particular assumptions, note why.

Identify alternative assumptions, if appropriate and possible. Pose at least one competitor assumption (usually, one you’d prefer), and contrast its viability.

If the work is not current, make an issue of it only if new information has become available that refutes the work. (It is generally most appropriate to view the work from the time perspective when it was done.)

If important facts are incorrect –especially if they influence the results of the analysis -identify and correct them. If other evidence or facts were omitted, characterize and add them.

Finally, decide whether or the author’s conclusions flow from the works logic and evidence. If not jot down why not.

Reearch Assignment ( Somalia And Al-Shabaab)

goal of the assignment is to give your classmates the essential information that they need to sound informed when discussing your particular expres- sion of Islamism with their colleagues and friends. Be sure to use images/video clips or digital handouts in your presentations to engage your classmates, and aim to share research and speaking responsibilities equally. In preparing your presentation, you may wish to consider the following questions (which you can apply as you see fit as you craft a narrative for the class):

Who are the primary actors at play, and where do they draw their support from? What are the stated objectives of your actors? What motivates them, or what has caused them to react? What are their ideological assumptions, and how do these intersect with globalization (or any other ideol- ogy that applies)? How do socio-economic factors figure into the situation? What are the humanitar- ian implications of the situation, or why should we care about the situation? How does the group identity of your primary actor(s) intersect with other ethno-linguistic or religious identity groups in the region? What is “modern” about your particular group?), each group will also submit a written report on their re- search project, which should be a minimum of six pages, and must reference and cite a minimum of four scholarly/academic/peer-reviewed secondary sources (in addition to the other websites, news- paper articles, blogs, and other non-scholarly sources that you consulted in preparing both your in- class presentation and your written report). The final report must NOT include plagiarized text (re- ports will be checked through Blackboard’s SafeAssign) and should include full Chicago citations of source materials including a bibliography.

Paper Proposal

I will be conducting my research for my paper on incarceration in the United States related to the death penalty and wrongful accusations of innocent inmates. My title will be, “Wrongful Convictions in the US; Should the death penalty be abolished?” With the release of the new movie ‘Just Mercy’ starring two big name actors, Jamie Foxx and Michael B. Jordan a lot of light has been shed upon this topic. The movie is based around wrongfully accused inmates and even though it is set in the late 1900s, the issues in the movie are still relevant and prominent until this day. Studies have shown that as much as four percent of inmates are on death row and innocent, to sum it up almost one hundred and twenty out of three thousand inmates are potentially not guilty of the crime they are in prison for. The ultimate question is after six states getting rid of the death penalty, should the rest follow? Therefore, my research question is, “Should the United States get rid of the death penalty in all 50 states?”. New studies have emerged in order to break down and calculate the wrongful convictions, one by the name of “Survival analysis” for the inmates currently incarnated that may suffer from injuries of harnessing diseases. Also, the chances of a prisoner who is wrongfully convicted getting exonerated depends highly on if the government is trying to currently execute him and how quick his date is set and approaches. Some of these innocent prisoners sit on death row an wait on trials, dates to be set and to potentially face their death, all the while they may not even make it to see any of those days due to some prisoners dying while sitting on death row when the whole time they could’ve been free. I feel as though this topic is very important and many should be educated on this unfair tactic by the government.

What are the similarities and differences between the kinds of intelligence needed to manage Great Power crises contrasted with crises in which one or more actors are non-state armed groups? Compare and contrast challenges in collection, analysis, and utilization of intelligence as well as the organization of the intelligence community for 21st century crisis management. Be specific, referring to relevant examples in support of your answer.
