Explain the role of one of the three branches of government with regards to a current event. Write a 2-4-page double-spaced paper.  Proper grammar and spelling is required.  Papers must include a cover page, 2-4 full pages of content, and a bibliography.  APA format. All sources must be good, academic, peer reviewed sources.   This means that most websites (Wikipedia, answers.com, and similar websites) are disqualified.  If you can’t identify an author and date that’s a good sign that the source needs to be carefully evaluated and, most likely, not used.   Note that encyclopedias and textbooks should not be used in research papers.   You may refer to them, but their use should be very minimal.

For the film you choose, write a clear and concise 1000-word essay addressing the following points: Briefly summarize the most important elements of the plot of the film. How does the film view those aspects of politics that we have discussed in class? Relate the film to specific readings that we have done in class. Choose a brand from the list below to research and develop a marketing plan.  You should be able to find information from business media, such as The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Fortune, Advertising Age, or Forbes.  Start with the recommended publications above.   Other information may be obtained from the company’s website, and from the business section of daily newspapers.  You may also look for the product in stores or visit the business for additional information.  This is particularly helpful for understanding the competition, the pricing, and distribution strategies.  Use multiple sources because some may be biased (for example, the company website probably avoids any negative information about the brand).

I expect a minimum of twelve current articles (2017 – present), not including the company website, as background for your paper.   If you are not sure about the meaning of the terms in the outline below, consult your textbook to make sure you understand what you are saying about the brand.  Although many students start their searches with Wikipedia for background information, Wikipedia is NEVER appropriate as a citation in college level work.

· At times the integrity of the criminal justice system has been called into question.  What are some of the events that have led to this situation?

· Do you believe that more counties should adopt cite and release?  Why or why not?

· Discuss at least two changes that you believe would increase fairness in the criminal justice system.
