Examine at least three (3) key legal and ethical issues that could potentially impact the performance management system

You are the HR manager for an upscale retail store which sells clothing, shoes, handbags, and other accessories. Due to the economic downturn, the company has experienced a significant reduction in earnings, resulting in the layoff of a number of retail sales associates. Business seems to be rebounding, but you are concerned about the performance of the retail sales staff. The CEO has requested that you recommend ways to increase sales and customer service. You believe that implementing a performance management system may help modify employee behavior and improve results.

Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:

  1. Create a job description for a retail sales associate, which includes the most significant components necessary to describe the job both internally and externally.
  2. Create an organizational behavior modification (OBM) plan to define four (4) key behaviors that are required for successful job performance as a retail sales associate. Suggest the significant ways that your plan will benefit the organization.
  3. Specify two (2) ways that you would measure whether current employees exhibit the key job performance behaviors. Propose two (2) methods that you could use to inform employees of the new performance standards.
  4. Outline a plan with two (2) methods of providing feedback to employees. Include the frequency with which the feedback will be provided. Propose two (2) actions company leaders should take to reinforce positive employee behaviors.
  5. Examine at least three (3) key legal and ethical issues that could potentially impact the performance management system. Support your response with specific examples of the identified issues’ possible effects on the performance management system.

Unit VII Scholarly Activity

Leadership Training Program

Congratulations! Your boss has just given you the task of helping organize a training for new leaders entering your organization. She mentioned that you will be expecting 10 new employees for the training, and she wants you to be in charge of preparing them for their new roles in leadership. She also added that she hopes you can show them that leadership is more than just management.

Based on what you have learned so far in our course, create a training that will help the new leaders understand the difference between leadership and management. Additionally, you will help develop their leadership skills and explain why leadership is important in the organization.

Describe at least two exercises you could implement that could help the new leaders develop leadership competencies. Include in your description each training method that you will use (computer-based, traditional, and/or e-learning) and the reason why you chose this method. Also, include what you hope the new leaders will learn from this training.

Remember, these new employees are part of the future of your company. Getting them excited from the start about their new leadership roles will have positive effects.

Your scholarly activity should be a minimum of three full pages in length, not including the title and reference pages. You must use at least one outside resource, which could include a required reading article, or any useful resource you find. Regardless of which you choose to include, any and all must have accompanying APA citations.

Describe a potential solution for each barrier you have identified.

Case Study Analyses

A person’s health may be greatly impacted by his or her access to timely, appropriate care. Yet, in the United States, there are marked differences among the quality of services that are available and each individual’s use of those services. The cost of healthcare, for instance, can greatly influence a person’s decision to visit the doctor or fill a prescription. What other factors impact healthcare-related decisions? In this Discussion, you will read three case studies that illustrate dilemmas related to cost, quality, and access to healthcare, and consider the potential influence these can have on a person’s health, financial standing, and quality of life.

To prepare for this Discussion:

  • Read the Week 2 Discussion Case Studies.
  • Select one case study on which to focus for this Discussion.
  • Review the information presented in the Resources, including Chapter 12 in the Shi and Singh (2015) course text and the two resources you selected.
  • Reflect on your selected case study and consider the following questions:
    • Which barriers in the U.S. healthcare delivery system related to cost, quality, and/or access are evident in the case study?
    • How could these barriers be addressed?
    • How does the use of insurance influence concerns or decisions related to cost, quality, and/or access to care for the person in this case study?

Post by Day 4 a substantive and cohesive response to the following:

  • Analyze one or more barriers in the U.S. healthcare delivery system related to cost, quality, and/or access that are evident in your selected case study.
  • Describe a potential solution for each barrier you have identified.
  • Explain how health insurance may influence concerns or decisions related to cost, quality, and/or access to care for the person in your selected case study.

Reminder: Be sure to cite your supporting documentation appropriately in correct APA format.
