Introductions

Data visualizations can be used in many different ways. They paint a picture of data to make it easier to interpret and understand. They are important for decision-makers because it gives them the opportunity to see analytical results presented visually, find relevance among variables, and predict the future.

Instructions

Imagine that the director of your department has tasked you with creating a presentation for your organization that illustrates a health issue.

Go to the Library and research a health topic (obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc.). Locate scholarly sources that represent the data in a visual way (infographics, charts, graphs, etc.). Data visualizations may come from the CDC, NIH, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, National Association of Mental Illness, American Cancer Society, etc. You must use highly credible sources.

Use the template provided in the Course Documents area to complete your Assignment.

Create a 10-12 slide PowerPoint presentation using visual representations of the data from highly credible sources. There should be detailed speakers notes for each slide. The presentation should be in the following format:

  • Title slide
  • Introduction slide
  • Data visualization (3-4 visualizations, one on each slide). In the speaker notes area, provide a detailed description of that data in the visualizations.
  • Analyze the data visualizations on the slides and within the speaker notes. (1-2 slides)
  • Discuss how these visualizations can assist with organizational decision-making for program development. (1 slide)
  • Recommend organizational action based on the combination of data from the visualizations. (1 slide)
  • Conclusion slide
  • Reference slide(s)

The board of directors at Freeman-Brown Private School (FBPS) has hired you as part of a consulting team to review the situation and present your findings and recommendations. Write a paper (1,500-1750 words) that discusses the case. Complete this assignment from the perspective of the hired consultants. Respond to the following questions:

Healthcare organizations face many unprecedented challenges and opportunities. Diversity is one of the major challenges that continues to overwhelm management teams. Gender, ethnicity, and race are most noticeably lacking in top leadership roles in healthcare. There is a documented need for diverse leadership teams with transformational leadership skills to successfully lead organizations. Remediation of this gap is critical to the advancement of healthcare delivery and systems. Senior management must consider the deficiency and develop a strategic process to invoke change.

Suppose you are the Executive Director of the hypothetical organization Better Health Today, LLC. The board of directors has informed you that the organization has missed out on major federal funding opportunities over the past three to five (3-5) years. The grant reviewer’s feedback describes the organization’s lack of diversity and community support to promote social change. The board of directors has asked you to review the issues noted in the reviewer’s feedback and provide recommendations to improve the reputation of the company.

Write a five to six (5-6) page paper in which you:

  1. Based on your knowledge of leadership theory, specify two (2) key competencies needed to improve community relations. Provide support for your rationale.
  2. Examine the impact that the lack of diversity has on the community meeting national public health initiatives. Analyze two (2) of the major challenges the organization faces in improving diversity.
  3. As a senior level manager, compose at least two (2) strategies designed to minimize the impact that lack of diversity may have on the organization. Recommend one (1) approach for implementing each suggested strategy. Provide support for your recommendations.
  4. Design the key resources and main communication efforts required to implement the minimizing strategies that you suggested. Justify your position.

Regression modeling is a foundational skill for  those conducting secondary data analysis, much like you will encounter  in the completion of the Doctor of Healthcare Administration (DHA)  program. Additionally, regression modeling assists in finding  connections among multiple variables and one dependent variable.  Consider, for example, a healthcare administrator who may be asked to  develop or interpret models of patient satisfaction based on other  quantitative or dichotomous variables.
