Welcome to Module 7. Budgeting strategies, and especially cost- cutting methods, are widely used today. Budget strategies need to be aligned with a larger issue, strategic management, which was discussed in this module. Systematic, objective strategic planning, along with the implementation of the plan, drives successful health care organizations. The key to successful planning is to make the process a part of the daily operations of the organization. Strategic management is a continuous process of revisiting the system and restoring balance. This module will identify the factors in strategic management that work and those that need revising. This module also includes rolling forecasts and other strategic management and planning techniques.

Assignment Description:

Write a 2000-2500 word essay addressing each of the following points/questions. Be sure to completely answer all the questions for each bullet point. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your professor to know which bullet you are addressing in that section of your paper. Support your ideas with at least three (3) sources in your essay. Make sure to reference the citations using the APA writing style for the essay. The cover page and reference page do not count towards the minimum word amount. Review the rubric criteria for this assignment.

• Reflect on the mission, vision, values, and goals of your healthcare organization and provide examples of how individual employees, departments, and work units support all four of these as a foundation for directional strategies.• Describe positive and negative aspects of abandoning traditional healthcare strategic planning processes and adopting a contemporary approach.• How does complexity influence budget strategies and their implementation? Give examples.• Discuss the process of external and internal environmental analyses, and then speculate on scenarios that may result if these steps in strategic planning are omitted or are not done well.• Discuss mechanisms that nurse manager can use to ensure they make the best decisions for supporting the financial goals of the organization.
