Description: Outline of Instructional Strategy/System Support Solution. Prepare a 2-3 page outline of the instructional strategy or system support solution you are planning. Include a minimum of two peer-reviewed articles and any other relevant resources you have identified. The outline will have 2 to 3 levels and may be a sentence or topical outline. References must be in APA 6 format. During week 1 you identified an instructional strategy or system support solution you wanted to investigate during this class. Your colleagues offered you feedback on the situation, and you might even have read and critiqued two articles on the situation. Instructional Strategy. Instructional strategies can outline a way to develop instructional material, establish a way to evaluate current information, revise either of the two above, or used as a framework for planning units of a curriculum. Strategies include group discussions, independent readings, case studies, computer simulations, and collaborative group efforts to name just a few. Approaches can specify sequencing, learning components )objectives, prerequisites, stimulation, motivation, feedback), assessment, learner grouping, media, conditions of learning, creation of a new and innovative strategy or re-working a tried and familiar one adapting to the current situation. Carey and Dick (1991) have developed summative evaluation questions for an instructional strategy that you might want to consider: 1. “Are introductory of pre-instructional activities included? 2. Are the content, sequence, scope, and pace of the presentation appropriate for the goal, the learners, the medium and the setting? 3. Are practice or rehearsal activities congruent with the objectives of the instruction (conditions, behavior, context)? 4. Is the feedback to learners informative in terms of illuminating the criteria, providing models of correct responses, or explaining correct solutions and common mistakes? 5. Are performance tests congruent with the goals and objectives of the instruction, the characteristics of learners, and the pace of instruction (too soon/late)? 6. Are follow-through activities for remediation, enrichment, or linkage to subsequent instruction included?” (p. 275) Here you will outline your instructional strategy and include support from three to five different scholarly articles. Identify additional work needed to complete this project. Make sure you check the rubric before submitting the assignment. System Support Solution. This option is a little more flexible in the structure of the solution. As mentioned earlier, a system support solution can include an issue related to globalization, achievement gaps, enrollment risks, training, software support, data integration, networking, or processing documentation to name just a few examples. You would probably choose this option if you are going to be specializing in Distance Learning. Although the paper for this option will probably create its own structure dependent upon the nature of the issue being investigated, some guidelines to consider include. 1. Diagnosis and analysis of situation 2. Application of appropriate models, theories, and conceptual frameworks 3. Steps needed to complete project 4. Three possible avenues to solve the issue 5. How to decide the best approach 6. What will success look like? 7. How will you measure it? 8. What sorts of problems do you anticipate? 9. What research materials will you need to access? Here you will outline your System Support Solution and include support from three to five different scholarly articles. Make sure you check the rubric before submitting the assignment.
