Reconciling and Harmonising Cultural Conflict.

I need help creating a thesis and an outline on Reconciling and Harmonising Cultural Conflict. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is required. When diverse individuals hailing from different cultures must work together in the organization, conflict is virtually an inevitable outcome. Especially in the built environment, team functioning and inter-dependency are absolutely critical in meeting deadlines, identifying problem-solving solutions to a variety of business problems, and ensuring effective project management. The problem with establishing a team environment in which organizational members are representative of dissimilar cultures is that there may be disagreements about how to approach such conceptions as risk adoption, what is considered to be effective and appropriate communication style and language, and even individual perceptions of political relativism regarding how power should be appropriately distributed amongst team members. In the role of manager or leader, it is necessary to reconcile such differences and establish a more cohesive and harmonized team ideology to achieve strategic, financial, efficiency, or productivity goals.

Not all conflict, of course, occurs between team members, but can also occur as a result of leadership and subordinate interactions. There are those in the organization that will value a more aggressive and decisive leader whilst others want a more sensitive and compassionate leader to direct their activities. If the leader is not aware of their absolute importance in creating an environment where individuals are motivated and committed to following the leader, it is likely no conflict management strategy is going to be successful over the long-term. Reconciling and harmonizing conflicts created by disparate cultural characteristics cannot occur within a proverbial vacuum, but requires direct strategy development and interaction by the leader to be successful.

The essay further examines the role of leadership in isolating these problems and developing effective strategies for productive conflict resolution.&nbsp.

Comparative of Biblical Self-Concept and Psychological Self-Concept.

Hi, need to submit a 1250 words paper on the topic Comparative of Biblical Self-Concept and Psychological Self-Concept. Self-concept development is very important when an individual is growing up because it guides the behaviour of the individual with relation to the choices he/she makes while growing up, the individual’s expectations from other people, and generally how the individual behaves. In childhood, teachers and parents shape the self-concept of an individual. As the individual approaches adolescence, self-concept comes from interacting with various people who can be peers or role models and trying to develop a behaviour that matches theirs (Reinecke 263).

From a biblical point of view, the sense of self-concept emanates from living a Christian guided life. In this case, a person believes that he/she is not alone but with God, his son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The Bible depicts that when individuals represent themselves according to the nature of God, the likeness of God becomes the individual’s quintessence. In addition, biblical self-concept also comes from the Christian teacher. In this case, the Christian teacher must behave and act in the right way and be an example to the students. As depicted in the bible, Jesus in his teachings tells people that when they make the Kingdom of God their first priority, all other things shall be added unto them. According to this, therefore, self-concept, which judges the behaviour and conduct of an individual, is because of being obedient to the laws of God (Reinecke 266).

There are clear differences between how a positive self-growth occurs psychologically and biblically. According to psychologists, a positive self-growth comes from changing social life insights and achieving a superior self-direction through self-openness, acceptance of others, and self-recognition. In terms of changing the social life perception, an individual should view self-concept as a source of information upon which he/she gauges the self. The individual should also take criticisms as drivers to growth and not obstacles to development.

Global Information System.

Need help with my writing homework on Global Information System. Write a 500 word paper answering;

Running Head: SOFTWARE PIRACY Global Information System – Software Piracy and Section # of Piracy Rates in AsiaThe piracy rates in Asia Pacific increased to 61 percent in 2009 with the software companies bearing losses of over US$ 15 billion (Business Software Alliance, 2009). Many countries in the Asian region are taking steps to reduce piracy but the problem remains worst in the countries with highest growth rates. According to the news release by Business Software Alliance, worldwide piracy grew from 38% to 41 % from 2008.

The higher rates in piracy are attributed to the rise in the shipment of PCs to China and India. These countries are the high piracy countries. Main Issues to ConsiderThe availability of pirated software over the internet free of cost or a minimal cost is the main issue to be considered by the company. Internet laws in the Asian countries do exist but most of the countries such as Pakistan and Nepal do not take any action for the distribution of pirated copies of software. With the increase in broadband penetration and download speed, it is very difficult to manage the software assets by a company in Asian region.

Torrents and other sites on the internet which charge a minimal price from the consumers for software are increasing every day.However, the main problem for the software companies is not the home users but the small businesses and firms, which purchase non-branded PCs and get pirated software bundled with it (Business Software Alliance, 2009). Many managers in the Asian countries fail to implement the policies of managing their software assets and they purchase pirated copies of software in order to cut costs.

These managers and even owners to small and medium businesses fail to understand the benefits efficiencies of original software use. Most of the firms and management in these Asian countries do not get proper education or training on the issue of software piracy (Coombes, 2010). The global economic recession has caused many firms to give up their policies on software policies as they are not able to bear the huge cost of purchasing new software for their business needs. The buying power of the households has also fallen which is one of the many factors of increasing rates in piracy.

However, the company should not forget that the Asia Pacific is the hardest hit region by the economic crisis in the world. The future economic improvements in these countries are also uncertain as these countries are under development and not yet part of the developed world.Another issue that the software firm has to consider is the spread of internet access which is driving up the level of piracy. Over the next five years, 460 million users are expected to get internet access in developing countries (Business Software Alliance, 2009).

Technology and Legal Means to Safeguard our Intellectual PropertyForce the government to initiate government driven educational programs for individuals and small businesses and to take enforcement actions against software piracyPartner with branded PC vendors in Asian countries for giving preinstalled software bundled with the new PCsPartner with internet websites providing pirated software copies on the internet to purchase software from the software company and sell it to the online users at a lower costChange the distribution model by offering free trial version of the software over the internet to encourage the purchase of fully functional softwareBibliographyBusiness Software Alliance.
