Manufacturing Systems and Quality.

Complete 5 pages APA formatted article: Manufacturing Systems and Quality. In attaining efficiency, there are considerations of lean management, just in time production, total quality management, and total productive maintenance. Total quality management involves altering processes in the manufacturing process to ensure that there is meeting the goals of the organization. Eight pillars in total productive maintenance ensure effectiveness in the production process. The pillars are mainly focused on preventive and proactive techniques that are used for improving the liability of equipment (Wilson, 2010).

Lean manufacture considers several factors to bring efficiency. The lean manufacturing principle focuses on the consumer. Through consideration, all that is needed by a consumer is value. Value in manufacture occurs when there is the creation of goods and services that perceives highly as compared to their costs (Charantimath, 2011). In manufacture, lean principles ensure efficiency through the determination of the wants of the consumers and how there can be provided better services, cheaper services, and being time convenient.

Lean manufacturing brings about efficiency as there is the consideration of how work gets done in the manufacturing process. There are always several assumptions that are made on how work is done in the manufacturing process. This leads to a lack of reflection on the exact activities that are carried out in the manufacturing process (McCormick, 2002). In dealing with this to ensure efficiency, lean manufacture uses those that are not in the manufacturing process to observe the steps in the manufacturing process to ensure that the processes satisfy the needs of consumers (Naidu, Babu & Rajendra, 2006).

Lean management improves efficiency through the removal of inefficiencies and wastes. When there is the removal of the inefficiencies, the manufacturing process will be that which ensures that the process meets its goal of satisfaction of the wants of the consumers.

Discuss Third Generation Peacekeeping.

You will prepare and submit a term paper on Third Generation Peacekeeping. Your paper should be a minimum of 1250 words in length. The paper will seek to discuss the application of the third generation peace operation in Africa.

The UN peacekeeping operations are established with the objective of addressing the insecurity challenges affecting the population. The shift to the third generation peace-keeping operation has been attributed to the fact that the internal conflicts in Africa, as well as the Middle-east, are not a result of economic, territorial, or infrastructure threats. These operations are set up to address health, food, cultural, environment, economic, personal and political insecurity (Fen 283). The internal conflicts in Somalia are said to be attributed to poverty, hunger and political instability.

The traditional peacekeeping methods have been characterized by failure when applied in Africa and the Middle East. A good example was the attempts by the UN to resolve the conflict in Somalia in the ’90s. In the third generation peacekeeping operations, the UN employs both military and nonmilitary aspects to address the insecurity challenges. The military aspects include training of the police and the military forces of the state country instead of deploying foreign troops (Beebe 100). Military training also encompasses technology and infrastructure development. In other situations, a combined force of the police and the military personnel is established to address the pressing issues.

Other military aspects involve the maintaining and enforcement of the rule of law (Munson 211). This involves the training of the judicial system as well as the anti-corruption units on the maintenance of law and order. It also involves restoring peace by disarming the conflicting parties. In Somali, this has been applied to ensure that innocent civilians are not killed, yet the Al-Shabaab are disarmed and arrested. It also encompasses facilitating elections and implementation of a government in case of a totally collapsed state.&nbsp.

Territorial Disagreements between the Jewish People and the Palestinian Arabs.

According to this Declaration, the British government supported the Zionist movement which demanded territory in Palestine exclusively for the Jews. This territory would provide all the legal and civil rights to the Jews. With the Balfour Declaration, the British government established a national home for the Jews without violating the rights of the existing non-Jews in Palestine or the rights of the Jews in any other country (Gelvin, 2005). Both the communities asserted their legal claim on Palestine.

While the Jews demanded that they have historical rights over the territory, the Arabs have claimed that they have inhabited Palestine for many centuries (Khater, 2010, p.143).It is only political stubbornness that is causing hindrance to peace between the Israelis and the Arabs. There has been already a proposal that dictates that the two sides should accept the division of the territory into two states. This proposal has been advocated globally, and even by the majority of ordinary Israelis and Palestinians.

It now remains that the leaders on both sides come to a common agreement. Even though proposals from both sides are very close, still the current Israeli Prime Minister shows no sign of relent claiming that the conflict cannot be solved (Hill, 2012). As another possible solution there can be a one-state solution by which Jews and Arabs will stay together with common political and social rights. However, seeing the murderous hatred between them even this cannot be a viable solution as this can only probably cause another holocaust.

Discuss the problem of cyber attacks.

Need an research paper on the problem of cyber attacks. Needs to be 5 pages. Please no plagiarism. According to Army Lt. Gen. Keith Alexander, CEO of National Security Agency said: “I’d like to say that our networks are secure, but that would not be correct. We have vulnerabilities.” (Gorman, 2009).

In the book written by Richard Clark and Robert Knake called the Cyber War: The Next Threat to National Security and What to do about it, they explain how a major cyber attack on the United States could cripple the economy and leave thousands of people dead. In the present scenario, a major cyber attack can be envisioned to have various deleterious consequences as explained in the below fictional situation beginning with the United States being hit by a sophisticated cyber-attack and the Director of Defense Information Agency briefing the Secretary of Defense that an unclassified Department of Defense (DOD) network known as NIRPRNET is collapsing. This is soon followed by two of the classified networks of DOD, SIPRNET, AND JWICS, coming to a grinding halt. In the following days, two regional offices of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Philadelphia and Denton report large refinery fires. There are reports of a chlorine gas leak from several chemical plants in New Jersey and Delaware. In addition to the above, the Federal Aviation Administration National Air Traffic Control Center in Herdon, Virginia is experiencing a total collapse of their systems. There are also reports from the alternate center in Leesburg that several regional centers were unable to see the incoming aircraft. As the situation worsens, the Indianapolis center reports a midair collision of two 737 aircraft. The Federal Railroad Administration has suffered a major freight derailment in Long Beach, Norfolk, Chicago, and Kansas City. By 3.15 pm, subways in New York, Oakland, and Washington have crashed and the numbers of midair collisions are rapidly increasing. Pipelines carrying natural gas to the Northeast have exploded resulting in a cloud of poisonous gas over several&nbsp.cities. There has been a wipeout of terabytes of information centers freezing the financial system of the country. Weather, navigation, and communication satellites are spinning out of their orbits into space.
