Discuss Embryo Adoption Debate.

Complete 5 pages APA formatted article: Embryo Adoption Debate. E. Christian Brugger bases his argument that saving the life of frozen embryos through implanting them into the wombs of married women is licit, on the premise that the intention for which the action is undertaken is the most important. Thus, according to Brugger, while surrogate mothers undertake implantations of the embryo to fulfill the illicit purpose of the offending person refusing to carry the embryo, an embryonic-saving procedure through implantation into the wombs of other women has the intention of saving the life of the frozen embryo from death2.

This position is affirmed by Karl Schudt, whose argument is that the creation of spare embryos on a dish and their freezing through the in vitro fertilization (IVF) process is in itself wrong, thus making the act of saving the frozen embryos from the IVF morally right3. Further, William May adds his voice into the affirmation, by observing that it is not evil for a woman, married or unmarried to allow herself to become pregnant, other than through a conjugal act4. In this respect, the proponents of the licit of embryo implantation into the wombs of women for the sake of saving their lives holds that the act is morally acceptable since even though it goes against the theological law of pregnancy providing for the consummation of life only through the conjugal act of a husband and wife, it does not amount to the evil of surrogate pregnancy5.

On the other hand, the opponents of the implantation of the embryo in the wombs of women for the sake of bringing forth the life of the frozen embryo observes that the act is illicit and immoral. Francis de Rosa first observes that the debate regarding the implantation of abandoned children in the womb of other women has missed the right direction. This is because. the debate has simply focused on the ‘embryo adoption’ as the major object of the act of implanting the embryo in women’s wombs, yet the actual object is yet to be established6. His position is supported by Robert F. Onder, who argues for the position that the act of producing embryos and freezing them as spare babies is an evil and a major problem, since such spare embryos that are produced over and above the ones the couples require and stored as frozen embryos, are never returned for7.

Discussion on human organs as commodities in the global capitalist system.

Your assignment is to prepare and submit a paper on human organs as commodities in the global capitalist system. Explored and related to the political economy that arises from dependent development theory and inequalities (Nash 393), another form of the commodity has emerged, the commodity of human organs. While a global organ transplant system may have been inconceivable a century ago, it is now a flourishing, although largely as covert and illegal, global industry. The research intends to study human organs and its commodification using the concept of the world capitalist system that has Marxist and postmodernist concepts.

The paper aims to describe the conversation that depicts organ transplantation as a process of commodification of human organs and its implications for the commodification of human life and to explore the conflicts within this conversation, especially in the context of oppositions between modernist and postmodernist views of the world system. These oppositions are contextualized in the process of globalization. Globalization pertains to:

social, economic, cultural, and demographic processes that take place within nations but also transcend them, such that attention limited to local processes, identities, and units of analysis yields incomplete understanding of the local…the intensification of worldwide social relations which link distant localities in such a way that local happenings are shaped by events occurring many miles away and vice versa. (Kearney 548).

Globalization supports the world system where economic transactions erase geographic boundaries. Moreover, the topic of human organ commodification is chosen because of the interest in how the commodification of human organs works and to synthesize the numerous anthropological and related studies done on it. The global capitalist system commodifies human organs in the context of modernism (dependent development theory and Marxist commodification theory) and postmodernism, thereby turning humans and their organs as commodities to be sold and exchanged in both legal and illegal organs.

Done Week 7

InstructionsWeek 7 Creative Project – PowerPoint Presentation100 Possible PointsThe goal of the presentation is to demonstrate your understating of the fundamental role of learning and cognition in numerous processes and functions including perception, pattern recognition, attention, consciousness, learning, memory, concept formation, thinking, imaging, remembering, language, intelligence, emotions, and developmental processes, to name a few. This project is intended to provide you an opportunity to examine the concepts of cognition and learning that are of greatest interest to you, with the course content as a guide.identify a topic of interest related to cognitive psychology. Examples of topics one might consider include learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, emotional regulation, memory enhancement, or learning a language. In a PowerPoint presentation of at least 20 slides, not including title or reference slides, present your selected topic, demonstrating clear connections to cognitive psychology concept(s) introduced in the course. In your presentation, include the following elements:Identify, describe, define, and discuss, with detail, the selected topic related to a cognitive psychology concept.Provide critical analyses in the examination of the topic; the relevance of the topic on its own and its connection to cognitive psychology should be established early and effectually in the work.Note the topic’s relation to cognitive psychology, discussing the major functions/processes involved. This may include multiple structures of the brain, functions, and processes of cognition; be thorough and inclusive. In the discussion, identify whether the topic is an occurrence of normal or abnormal cognitive functions/processes and how these functions/processes may be enhanced or impeded.Provide clear definitions and/or explanations for the cognitive psychology concepts included within the work as links to the selected topic are made.Close your work with the major takeaway points of the presentation.Include appropriate attributions to sources for photographic, artistic, and/or graphic depictions displayed within the presentation. In developing your work, be sure to rely upon academic, scholarly sources to support the information included. Scholarly sources should be cited both in-text and on the reference slide of the submission. A minimum of three (3) academic, scholarly sources is required to be cited in the work.Work should be submitted in a PowerPoint file or other compatible file, and be at least 20 slides in length, excluding the required title slide and separate reference slide. Detailed speaker notes should accompany slides containing mostly bullet-point data to include the details expected in the instructions above.

spirituality

Being culturally sensitive by respecting your clients’ spirituality and religious traditions, in general, is an important professional competence (Furness & Gilligan, 2010). Applying your spiritual awareness to a specific client case, however, may require even greater skill. In this assignment, you consider how you might address a client’s crisis that includes a spiritual or religious component. To prepare for this Assignment, review this week’s media about Eboni Logan’s visit with her school social worker.Submit a 2- to 4-page paper that answers the following questions:As Eboni’s social worker, would you include spirituality and religion in your initial assessment? Why or why not? What strategies can you use to ensure that your personal values will not influence your practice with Eboni? How would you address the crisis that Eboni is experiencing?Plummer, S.-B., Makris, S., Brocksen S.
