WEEK 1 DIS QUESTION

What is the relationship between language and cognition? This question is important for psychologists, linguists, and educators, as well as professionals from many other disciplines. For normally developing children, research shows that there is a typical development sequence in both language and cognitive development. For instance, most children learn how to make words plural before they learn how to use the past tense. Likewise, in cognitive development, younger children think more concretely before they develop the ability to reason and think abstractly.Theorists and researchers have established the parameters and documented many of the products of human language and cognitive development but are still working to determine how these developments occur and the precise relationship between language and cognition. Likewise, many researchers are exploring new areas related to atypical development and factors that may increase human capacity for language and cognition. For this Discussion, you are asked to share an area of language study about which you are interested in learning more and provide resources to your colleagues about the topics of interest they identified. To prepare:· Review the Learning Resources, including the media, and begin to consider what language is and how it develops in the human brain.· Select one topic from this week’s Learning Resources that you found interesting (e.g., communication development in infancy, the biological basis of language or cognition, social cognition). With these thoughts in mind:Post an explanation of the idea or concept that you selected and why you find it interesting or compelling. What about this idea or concept do you want to learn more about? Use terminology from the Learning Resources in your post.Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources. Use proper APA format and citations.RESOURCES FOR THIS WEEK’S QUESTION; Gleason, J. B., & Ratner, N. B. (2017). The development of language (9th ed.). Self -Reflection Log Instructions Chapter 15
A self-reflection log/submission is due for each module. Self-reflection logs require you to reflect upon the information in the chapter and also to reflect upon self. The submission should be a minimum of 2 pages. You will be integrating information from the chapter readings which will enhance professional growth, observational skills, and analytical skills:
Identify and define 3 concepts or ideals that you learned from this chapter. The three concepts can be information that you did not know before reading the chapter (or concepts that you feel are most important). How or why would this new information be important for professional social workers who are working with groups?
As professional social workers we have to consistently engage in reflective practice. Reflective practice is used to advance your personal and professional growth. Reflective practice is deemed the most important tool in the development of any professional. The five types of reflection are shared in this module and two are identified as cultivating the “inner leader”. Narrative session notes is highlighted as a therapeutic tool – not only for members but also for the leaders.
On successful completion of this module, you will be able to:
Demonstrate Ethical and Professional Behavior
Engage In Practice-informed Research and Research-informed Practice
Engage with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities
Assess individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities
Intervene with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities
Evaluate Practice with Individuals, Families, Groups, Organizations, and Communities.

Write 6 pages thesis on the topic art vocabulary: the visual elements. For example, mixing yellow with green yields yellow-green.

f. Warm/ cool: Warm colors are those on the red-orange side of the wheel, due to their association with sunlight and firelight. Cool colors are those on the blue-green side of the color wheel, because of their association with the sky, water, etc (Getlein 89).

b. Linear perspective is the optically convincing depiction of space in which two concepts are used: forms appear to diminish in size as they recede away from the viewer. and “parallel lines receding into the distance seem to converge until they meet at a point on the horizon line where they disappear” (Getlein 103). this point is known as

d. Atmospheric perspective is the optical effect caused by the atmosphere that interposes itself between the viewer and the objects perceived. Particles of moisture and dust suspended in the atmosphere scatter light. Of all the colors of the spectrum, blue scatters the most, with the result that the sky itself appears to be blue, and things take on a bluish tinge as their distance from us increases. For example, hills receding into the distance appear “paler, bluer, and less distinct” (Getlein 107).

e. Isometric perspective is the system by which Chinese and Muslim painters use diagonal lines but without allowing parallels to converge, to suggest regular forms such as a building receding from the picture plane (Getlein 108).

1. Unity and Variety: Unity is a sense of oneness, of the elements in a composition belonging together and forming a coherent whole. Variety provides difference and interest to the artwork (Getlein 114).

This week you will learn about Social Media and the liabilities and risks from a legal perspective. Social media is defined as electronic communication (including the Internet or network systems) where participants communicate and share ideas, information, personal messages and other content (i.e., music or videos).
A common example is an employer restricting the use of social media both with the content shared by employees and access to social media through work computers.
Jamal works from home almost every day and decides to log into his social media platform on his work computer. He comments and likes some posts and pictures while logged in. The HR handbook states that employees are not allowed to use company computers for social media use. Are there any liabilities to Jamal or the employer from his actions? Why or why not?
