Write a 2 pages paper on the nature of being. The Nature of Being Being is one of the broadest concepts. It entails the features of reality. These features includethe objective as well as subjective aspects of existence as well as reality. It is of crucial significance to note that anything that assumes existence may qualify to be called a being. However, the use of the term “being” is limited to such entities or things with subjectivity. This can be seen in the expression of “human beings”, as a good example. This draws the notion that the concept of being defines existence of objects by the relationship of the same object to other objects as in the case of human beings (Fromm, 53).

It is of crucial significance to acknowledge the fact that being can manifest in several forms of unifying factors. This follows that for a being to be in existence, it must assume a unity of three distinct attributes. Therefore, it is crucial to acknowledge that being is a unity of three attributes. The first attribute that a being assumes is Spirit. There is no “being” that can be in existence and lacks the spiritual aspect. Spiritual aspect of beings is critical in several ways in all aspects of such a being. The second attribute that a being must assume is the Soul. All beings have souls. This is one of the unifying factors that define a being (Fromm, 43). The third distinct and unifying attribute to being is the body. A being cannot exist without a body. It is the body that acts as the envelop to accommodate the soul and Spirit. Therefore, without the body, both the spirit and soul are no more. Therefore, it is significant to underscore the fact that the nature of being is three distinct things that cannot act in isolation but in unity.

In the universe, Spirit is the only power that knows itself. Spirit is the active as well as self-conscious component of a being. A spirit is an absolute statement with meanings best understood in reason. The spirit is a being conscious of its own being and has powers that extend to none other than itself. It is cognizant of itself on the context of itself and recognizes nothing different from itself. It is manifested in the body as an absolute entity related to love, truth alongside being as well as cause and effect (Fromm, 75). Spirit relates to the soul in a manner that it rests to the soul its wants, thoughts as well as all that appertain to its being.

The soul is the receptive medium where the spirit rests and exercises its thoughts forms. Therefore, it is of crucial significance to underscore the fact that the soul is an entity that must be subjective to the Spirit. The soul as an entity of being is always neutral, passive and plastic. In this manner, it plays the receptive role in an absolute form relevant to the thought forms of the Spirit. This defines the being in the two entities. Soul and spirit must unify and correlate in action to manifest as a being (Fromm, 79). This unity is contained and exercised within the body. However, in view that the soul just plays a receptive role displaying what the spirit expresses, there is strong links between the spirit and body. However, the role of the soul is not to be under-looked since the three entities act in unity.

Therefore, the body is the result or the effect with regards to the objectification of the spirit. It is the visible envelop to the three entities. In other words, the body is the result of the spirit working in conjunction with the soul. Therefore, from this unity may result several behaviors. Several of such behaviors as expressed by the body may be used to describe such a being. It is the body that acts as the envelop to accommodate the soul and Spirit. Therefore, without the body, both the spirit and soul are no more.

These workers came to be known as saccades. And in a constant effort to recruit these saccades the Hawaiian Sugar Plantation Association (HSPA) sent labor recruiters to the Philippines and they set up recruitment centers in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, and Cebu.

The first Filipino laborers, all Tagalogs, came to Hawaii in 1906. At first, they did not really want to come to Hawaii due to the distance from home and the rampant rumors of man-eating animals upon the isles. But after the persistence of the campaigns and the “success” stories of the first repatriated sugar workers or salads, called “Hawayanos” in the Philippines, encouraged Filipino migration.

Over the years the migration of Filipinos to Hawaii grew from the initial 150 in 1907 to the average of 7,630 arriving annually in Hawaii during the 1920s. However, in the 1930s, despite a temporary influx of Filipino migrants due to the Great Depression, the Filipinos had replaced the Japanese as the largest ethnic group working on the plantations.

There were eventually, three waves of migration of Filipinos. The first wave was before the Great Depression and World War II. The second wave came just after the war and consisted mainly of immediate families and children of some of the pre- World War II saccades. The third wave came due to the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, which consisted of “relative-selected” and “occupational” migration.
