Discuss the effectiveness of Dr. Wakefield’s work. Presence of a reputable medical journal The Lancet and other media bodies providing coverage to this research further aggravated the situation.

Write 8 pages thesis on the topic dr. wakefields research & role played by media.

Dr. Wakefield’s research employed rigorous tools and methodologies for which no proper ethical approval was obtained for invasive procedures on children. On the other hand, it was found that Dr. Wakefield had exchanged funds with the lawyers of children’s parents that were made part of the research. The research further employed references of other studies that were conducted by either the coauthors of the same research or his friends. Where autism is a disorder for which little information is present regarding its causative agents and cures, a theory supporting the idea that it is caused by MMR vaccination made many parents believe that prevention from vaccination can benefit their child despite having contradictory evidence in the rates of epidemiological increases after this research.

The research was later on criticized by other independent studies which raised questions about the effectiveness of Dr. Wakefield’s work. Presence of a reputable medical journal The Lancet and other media bodies providing coverage to this research further aggravated the situation. A medical journal is usually used by medical practitioners, researchers, and educationists in the same field. However, vetting of Dr. Wakefield’s article by a medical journal allowed journalists and other media channels to disseminate information to local people.

As a result, parents refused to provide vaccination to their children in large parts of the world with reported epidemics in the UK, US, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland.

Research Paper W/ turn it in report

My topic to focus on the impact of bullying behaviors on children both as bullies and victims .,Use references in attachments.Research Proposal PaperIn this paper, you will propose a research project that utilizes one of the designs covered in the course. Specifically, you may propose either:Naturalistic observation (please do not propose any of the other methods of observational research)Survey researchBetween-subjects experimental designWithin-subjects experimental designNo matter which type of design you choose, your paper will contain all the sections of a research report put forth in the APA guide – with the exception of the analysis and results. (You are only proposing a study, not carrying one out.) Thus, you should have an APA-style cover sheet, abstract, introduction (including a literature review), hypotheses, method, discussion, and references, as well as any tables/figures you might find useful.Consult An Easy Guide to APA Style for assistance.Your paper should be structured as follows:Title pageAbstractLiterature reviewIntroduce and summarize research that has already been doneShould also set up your hypothesesProposed methodBegins with formal statement of hypotheses followed by the proposed method, using the criteria below as it pertains to your proposed methodObservation studyBehavioral categories you plan to observe – remember, those categories should be defined very specifically – see examples in the text and lectureMethod of observation you would use and why (e.g., frequency method, duration method, interval method, time sampling, event sampling, etc.)Sample coding sheet that the observers would use to record their observations (the text should have an example)Description of how many observers there will beDescription of how you will deal with disagreement among observers (i.e., if your observers disagree, how will you choose whose observation to use?)Description of how you will assess interrater reliabilitySurvey researchDescription of the sampleDescription of the survey itself, included in the measures part of the method section (i.e., how many items, what kind of response scale, what kind of anchors, etc.)Description of how you would assess the reliability and validity of the instrumentInclude a copy of the actual survey as an appendix. Remember to follow the suggestions in the survey module for good item writing, construction of the response scales, order of the sections of the questionnaire, etc.Experimental studyWhether the design is between-subjects or within-subjects (or both)Description of how you will manipulate the independent variable (i.e., a description of the different experimental conditions)If between-subjects, a description of how participants will be assigned to groupsIf within-subjects, how you plan to deal with possible carryover effectsDescription of how your dependent variable will be measuredNo matter which methodology you choose, you will follow the method section with a discussion section. Because you will not have results to discuss, you should discuss the contribution that your study will make to the literature if your hypotheses are supported. (What does your study add to the literature that you already reviewed? What unique contribution does it make?) Be sure to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of your methodology (based on what you learned about that methodology in the course). What kinds of conclusions can be drawn? Which conclusions cannot be drawn? Will you be able to show causation, given the design you chose? Finally, you will include an APA-style reference list. Tables and figures are also okay, but not required. If you do include them, they must be in APA formatYour paper must be at least 3,000 words, excluding the title page, references, and tables/figures

Discussion on

I need help creating a thesis and an outline on The Allegation of Discrimination of Amtrak. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is required. This essay explores the three cases that show the unfriendly environment that black employees had to face. Amtrak had flagrant discrimination in the workplace that had to be punished through monetary settlements. Campbell vs. National Railroad Passenger Corp. was a suit brought against Amtrak for discriminating against a black Conductor. “On March 3, 2009, a federal jury in Oakland issued a verdict against Amtrak for $677,000 for Race Discrimination toward John Earl Campbell, an African-American Conductor”. The case was brought due to Mr. Campbell’s refusal for engineer training during the five years he worked for Amtrak. After being terminated for complaining about race discrimination, Mr. Campbell filed suit for discrimination. It also came out in the trial that top management and managers regularly used racial slurs in front of black employees. The lack of training for higher positions was also an issue. The jury found that based on race alone Mr. Campbell was passed over for training and promotion. It was also found that Mr. Campbell was terminated due to being black. The suit Mr. Campbell brought was surprising for several reasons. Firstly, this discrimination complaint was not brought in the Deep South, but in Oakland, California. Secondly, this is the twenty-first century. Racism, especially in the workplace, should not be prevalent in today’s corporations. Suits from the 1970’s can be understood since that was the era after the Civil Rights Movement, but this is 2009. Discrimination in the workplace has been outlawed for decades. Amtrak seems to think they are above the law in regards to discrimination laws. National Railroad Passenger Corp. v. Morgan, Abner is the case about a black engineer in the Oakland Maintenance Yard. Mr. Morgan asserted the black workers had to endure slurs, discipline based on race and refused training opportunities.
