This week, you will submit the second project, VM Scanner Background Report, based on the Nessus Report. As you are writing your report, you may want to refer back to the CEO’s video in Week 1 to make sure your analysis and recommendations align with the CEO’s priorities and concerns.

 

You should link your analysis to the kinds of organizational functions and data associated with a transportation company (e.g., protecting order data, customer lists, sales leads, Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance for processing credit, proprietary software, etc.) and provide your recommendation if Mercury USA should purchase the Nessus tool. This report should be four to six pages in length and include a title/cover page. Include in-text citations and a reference page with three quality sources in a citation style of your choice.

Although the latter part of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century have witnessed this explosion of communication across every conceivable physical and cultural barrier, this does not necessarily mean that such communication takes place smoothly. Misunderstandings are common, and these can have serious consequences ranging from the failure of business operations to the needless suffering of individuals caught in a culture far removed from that of their birth, and even to war and destruction when nations fail to come to a workable understanding of each other’s aspirations. This paper examines two ways in which communication theory and cultural studies can be helpful in preventing cross-cultural miscommunication.

The first is the discipline’s potential to clarify and explain the role of ritual in human interactions, and this is explored using the example of health services which have to operate in one particular culture but deal with clients from multiple different cultures. The second is the process that can be called “clarification of values” which underpins intercultural understanding, and this is explored using examples of business relations between China and the Western world which includes Europe and America. The paper aims therefore to demonstrate on a small and then on a larger scale, the value of two aspects of communication theory and cultural studies in the modern world.

Communication theory and cultural studies are relatively new disciplines that arose out of a growing appreciation of the importance of social behavior in humans. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, culture was interpreted as an expression of higher and nobler human qualities, such as art, music, and literature, while other kinds of human behavior were considered inferior and written off as “uncultured” or barbaric. Such extreme distinctions underpinned ideologies like colonialism and slavery which privileged white, western ideas above other types of culture. In the twentieth century, studies such as those of Adorno and Horkheimer observed the cataclysmic world wars, the horrors of Fascism, and the rise of capitalist consumerism and rightly concluded that Western culture was capable of untold atrocities. This brought into question all the former assumptions about the superiority of Western elitist cultural assumptions.

Your assignment is to prepare and submit a paper on chemical waste disposal. Having said that, his effort to provide information about the main methods is pretty commendable. I think he manages to correctly introduce the topic of waste management. He explains why we need waste management-for conservation of our environment. Methods like recycling are perhaps the best method for waste management. Further, water pollution can mainly be controlled through sewage treatment. Besides these methods solid waste management is a very important aspect to waste management since solid waste is generally ignored and it has been piling up over the years creating havoc in our environment.

The author mentions the need for renewable energy. However, it is only related to the conservation of the environment and most would not consider it related to waste management. But I think the writer is clever enough to realize it as a secondary method to waste management. Since the use of renewable energy sources would mean less use of conventional energy sources like coal and hence there will be less waste that is produced by conventional energy sources.

The reason I mention this article here is that this article is a very optimistic article among all the pessimistic views that we hear daily. The article does provide good basic information but it could have been better.
