Reply to:Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) have some of the same symptoms and also have some very different symptoms. OCD is also an anxiety disorder that causes the person to seek perfection in order to deal with their anxiety. They may do repetitive behavior and form obsessions when it comes to order and control. GAD has anxiety with different elements of life but they do not try to solve their anxiety by repetition. They tend to worry about things out of their control and can not stop thinking about those thing and worrying more and more. OCD and GAD both have anxiety issues that are extreme but the symptoms are different. Receiving therapy that helps them to understand their anxiety and also to acknowledge their behavior is key to being able to handle and treat these disorders. Anti-anxiety medications are also an option for clients in need, combining both therapeutic methods can be very beneficial.
