This assignment will be a 5 minute audio embedded in a PowerPoint presentation.

In the Learning Materials under Additional Resources Review:

1. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (2017). Global health and the future role of the United States. -> Review TABLE S-1 Committee Recommendations and Corresponding Actions on page 3 (these come from the global health report and are global recommendations) and the four Priority Areas for Action starting on page 4 that further explain the 14 Recommendations in TABLE S-1.
2. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

*Select and review ONE of the 14 Recommendations OR an SDG that align with your interests or one you feel passionate about that could significantly improve global health.

Consider what steps healthcare professionals can take to advocate for vulnerable people at a global level.  

Reflect on global issues in healthcare and address the following in your presentation:

• Briefly describe the selected global recommendation or SDG and the identified vulnerable population
• Analyze current healthcare policies that impact your selected global recommendation or SDG
• Explain the reason you selected the global recommendation or SDG and why it is relevant to the vulnerable population.
• Discuss why the global recommendation you selected should be implemented or the SDG you selected should be achieved, including why there should be funding to implement the global recommendation or SDG.
• presentation (mp4 format) with slide presentation; answers must thoroughly address the questions in a clear, concise manner
• Structure: Include a title, objectives, and reference slides in APA format. Your presentation must include an introduction and a conclusion.
• References: Use the appropriate APA style in-text citations and references for all resources utilized to answer the questions. A minimum of three (3) scholarly sources are required for this assignment.
• Format: Save your assignment as an mp4 file.
• ASSIGNMENT:  Your assignment is a recorded screencast PPT or a similar program. This cannot be a voice over PPT (unless you convert it to a mp4 file), you will get zero points if you do not do a screencast or a similar program. This must be one mp4 file, do not submit this as separate submissions. I am not worried about speaker notes nor will I be looking at those if you do include them. The main focus will be the verbal content of the assignment.  

How to convert a recorded PPT into a mp4 file. Go to the file button in your PPT, click on Export, click on Create a Video. This might be an easier option than doing a screencast however you can do that also. Just please remember this must be a Mp4 file don’t just submit the recorded PPT in PPT format.

Pointers for your presentation this week

• Don’t purchase a program, there are free ones out there – screencast, speech over, bandicam. 
• Have a Conclusion slide
• Move all the way through the reference slide for just a few seconds. 
• I would suggest just writing out what you want to say for each slide. That may help you focus as you move through the presentation. It will stop a lot of the ‘um,’ ‘you know,’ ‘okay,’
• Have citations on your slides
• I would recommend having bullets on your slides along with some graphs, pictures, etc. for the visual learner but you don’t need to over do it.
• I do not need to see you in the presentation as sometimes that covers up some of the content. Some still choose to record themselves and that is fine also but not required.
