Create a 5 pages page paper that discusses seven characters for seven sins of the modern society. This paper declares that the film starts with gluttony and the first victim is an obese man, who was forced by John Doe to feed himself to death. It is striking that sins and types of punishment are closely related as it is exemplified in the death of the obese man. Andrew James Johnston notes that “the murders adhere to Dantean principle of contrapasso, according to which a punishment must resemble the sin for which it is inflicted”. Although the plot alludes to Dante and Chaucer as the sources of the concept of seven deadly sins in a medieval fashion, somehow, it is still rooted in American way. Indeed, obesity is a morbid health problem threatening millions of Americans including children and adolescents.

This essay stresses that Fincher’s everyman “John Doe” pushes the gluttony to its utmost limits to show the dark side of insatiable hunger, which affects millions of people. By using the obese men as a character, Fincher portrays the insatiable and unrestricted hunger of the modern consumer society. The second victim, a rich lawyer called Eli Gould, also suffers from excessive love. he represents people’s greed and obsession with money in contemporary capitalist societies. The office of murdered lawyer reflects the atmosphere of cold, calculating rationality of business world, with its modernist decoration e.g. abstract paintings, Marcel Breuer Chairs, Le Courbusier Settees. Eli Gould is characterized as a very ambitious attorney who had helped a pedophile to escape conviction for the rape. John Doe punishes the sin of Gould by making him bleed to death. Besides greed, Gould also represents decaying justice system of the society, which allows child rapists to become free. Although Victor escapes the justice system with the help of Gould, he becomes the “Sloth” victim of John Doe. As Hill and Smith notes “sloth is derived from Latin acadia meaning ‘without care’” and it also denotes apathy and lack of feeling (14). John Doe punishes Victor’s apathy by tying him to a bed. His literal immobility, or what Summerset calls as his “forced contrition”, represents the idleness of a “sloth”.

Write a 2 pages paper on the nature of being. The Nature of Being Being is one of the broadest concepts. It entails the features of reality. These features includethe objective as well as subjective aspects of existence as well as reality. It is of crucial significance to note that anything that assumes existence may qualify to be called a being. However, the use of the term “being” is limited to such entities or things with subjectivity. This can be seen in the expression of “human beings”, as a good example. This draws the notion that the concept of being defines existence of objects by the relationship of the same object to other objects as in the case of human beings (Fromm, 53).

It is of crucial significance to acknowledge the fact that being can manifest in several forms of unifying factors. This follows that for a being to be in existence, it must assume a unity of three distinct attributes. Therefore, it is crucial to acknowledge that being is a unity of three attributes. The first attribute that a being assumes is Spirit. There is no “being” that can be in existence and lacks the spiritual aspect. Spiritual aspect of beings is critical in several ways in all aspects of such a being. The second attribute that a being must assume is the Soul. All beings have souls. This is one of the unifying factors that define a being (Fromm, 43). The third distinct and unifying attribute to being is the body. A being cannot exist without a body. It is the body that acts as the envelop to accommodate the soul and Spirit. Therefore, without the body, both the spirit and soul are no more. Therefore, it is significant to underscore the fact that the nature of being is three distinct things that cannot act in isolation but in unity.

In the universe, Spirit is the only power that knows itself. Spirit is the active as well as self-conscious component of a being. A spirit is an absolute statement with meanings best understood in reason. The spirit is a being conscious of its own being and has powers that extend to none other than itself. It is cognizant of itself on the context of itself and recognizes nothing different from itself. It is manifested in the body as an absolute entity related to love, truth alongside being as well as cause and effect (Fromm, 75). Spirit relates to the soul in a manner that it rests to the soul its wants, thoughts as well as all that appertain to its being.

The soul is the receptive medium where the spirit rests and exercises its thoughts forms. Therefore, it is of crucial significance to underscore the fact that the soul is an entity that must be subjective to the Spirit. The soul as an entity of being is always neutral, passive and plastic. In this manner, it plays the receptive role in an absolute form relevant to the thought forms of the Spirit. This defines the being in the two entities. Soul and spirit must unify and correlate in action to manifest as a being (Fromm, 79). This unity is contained and exercised within the body. However, in view that the soul just plays a receptive role displaying what the spirit expresses, there is strong links between the spirit and body. However, the role of the soul is not to be under-looked since the three entities act in unity.

Therefore, the body is the result or the effect with regards to the objectification of the spirit. It is the visible envelop to the three entities. In other words, the body is the result of the spirit working in conjunction with the soul. Therefore, from this unity may result several behaviors. Several of such behaviors as expressed by the body may be used to describe such a being. It is the body that acts as the envelop to accommodate the soul and Spirit. Therefore, without the body, both the spirit and soul are no more.

Need an research paper on topic 1: according to robbins et al (2008) selective perception may affect decision making. do you agree explain your answer wi. Needs to be 7 pages. Please no plagiarism. Various parameters can control our decision making abilities. Our attitudes, intelligence, cultural backgrounds, emotional control, perceptions etc can affect our decision making abilities. According to Robbins et al (2008), Selective perception may affect our decision making abilities. This paper critically analyses the above opinion of Robins et al. Introduction Perception is the way that people organize and interpret everything around them in order to give meaning to experiences. The definition of perception does not change but each individual’s perception of an experience can be different. There are many things that influence a person’s perception. Personal beliefs, attitude, and past experiences can change the way a situation is perceived. Situational awareness also factor’s into perception. What might be normal in one situation might stand out in another. A person yelling at a football game would not stand out but the same person acting the same way in a church would be noticed (Hernandez, 2008) Man is a social animal who assumes many roles in life. A person could be a father, son, husband, brother, friend or a professional. In other words, same person will act differently at different places. If he behaves in his workplace, just like he behaves in his family or society, something definitely wrong with that person. He is supposed to or perceived to behave differently at different places like family, organization society etc. In short, the behaviour of a person is perceived to be dependent on the circumstances. In other words, the person should be extremely selective while perceiving different situations. Selective perception is the personal filtering of what we see and hear so as to suit our own needs. Much of this process is psychological and often unconscious. We simply are bombarded with too much stimuli every day to pay equal attention to everything so we pick and choose according to our own needs (Selective perception, n. d) Selective perception and cognitive biases have close relationships. In fact selective perception points towards the number of cognitive biases which may affect our perceptions. Cognitive bias is nothing but the pattern of deviation in judgment that occurs in particular situations. For example, we normally expect more marks from the children of an intelligent person. Sometimes our expectations may not be correct and those children might be idiots. In such cases, we would be forced to change our general perceptions about the abilities of the children of intelligent persons. In other words, we can say that we were forced to make a selective perception in the above case. We come across with many instances in which people behave indifferently at times. This is partly because of the influence of selective perceptions. For example, suppose we have given a nonalcoholic drink to a person and told them that it was an alcoholic drink. Sometimes that person may exhibit the mannerisms of a drunkard if he believes those words because of selective perception. That person might have seen many people behave differently under the influence of alcohol and his perception about the influence of alcoholic drinks up on a person will force him to behave same way like the drunkards. Selective perceptions can affect our decision making abilities according to Robbins et al (2008).

I need help creating a thesis and an outline on Comparison of Self-Reported and Audio-metrically Measured Hearing Loss. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is required. This research article is written and compiled by well-known researchers including Kirk who is an associate professor at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research. Similarly, McGuire is also a known chief investigator, she has great experience and expertise in leading research projects particularly in psychological related researches. Treloar is also an associate professor and she is an expert in genetic epidemiology and mental health issues. Whereas Neveld is a lieutenant colonel, but he has also worked as a reliable researcher to explore out different health issues faced by the Australian Defense Force. Here, from the publisher, the Queensland Centre for Military and Veterans health Mayne School to list of authors who have contributed to the research, write and compile this study, it can be understood that the information quoted in this study would be authentic and credible.

It should be noted that this research article is about heard loss problems among military men but after reviewing the professional careers and experiences of all authors it can be suggested that none of them is an expert ENT specialist or general physician. It can be argued that it is important to have a contribution of at least one expert of the health problem particularly addressed in the study. Likewise, I noticed in other research studies by the University of Queensland such as “Teenage Acne in Influenced by Genetic Factor”, by Evans, Kirk, Nyholt, Novac, and Martin. Among them, Nyholt is a well-known genetic epidemiologist and his opinion is worthy of analyzing genetic factors in teenage acne.

Furthermore, in this research article, the objective problem was clearly identified and stated as to explore the relationship between self-reported and audio-metrically measured hearing loss in a sample of Australian Defense Force personnel. This is the best and most concise way to state the aim and identified problems for research as also observed in other credible&nbsp.articles.&nbsp.
