During the time African slaves were brought to the United States, these slaves preserved much of their culture. The city of New Orleans in Louisiana had a “population of white settlers, black slaves, and mixed race, most notably the descendants of French and Spanish settlers and blacks known as the Creoles.” (The Story of Music Vol. 5 1) Plantation slaves meet at the Congo Square where they dance to African drumming. Even after the time, slavery was abolished during the Civil War, the Congo Square remained to be the favorite meeting venue to perform African rhythm which was soon picked up by other local bands. “They were black bands made up of freed slaves and house servants throughout the South.” (The Story of Music Vol. 5 2) New Orleans then became the birthplace of jazz being the most prolific ground for the expression of black music. One facet is their musical culture, including rhythms, songs, and dances, wherein African Americans were introduced to the European and white popular music. Likewise, European Americans were introduced to the “off-beat” rhythms and various pitches used in the African melody. For that reason, the development of jazz which became the most important music genres of the 20th century came into being. Jazz is said to be America’s greatest contribution to music. Its impact on American society has been massive and its influence on world culture has been far-reaching. “Its message has been direct, vital, and immediate, enabling it to hurdle cultural.&nbsp.The “twang” of a hunter’s bow may have given people the idea that strings are also sources of pleasing sounds and if given different tensions would also create a variety of pitches.&nbsp. This inspiration would eventually lead to the stretched strings of the violin family.&nbsp.

creating a thesis and an outline on Warren Buffet Analysis of Sociological Approach. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide.

I need help creating a thesis and an outline on Warren Buffet Analysis of Sociological Approach. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is required. When we review the current economic climate in the United States based on the plan of action as purposed by millionaire Warren Buffet, we are able to draw some parallels and disparities in the theories of some of the popular sociologist theories of Karl Marx, Max Weber and Pierre Bourdieu. Warren Buffet has long championed the cause of the economically population in the country. In his article “Stop Coddling the Super-Rich” (2011), he pinpoints the main reason of the economic disparity within the United States as the taxation policies of the Government. There is an increasing divide between the rich and the poor where the rich are becoming richer because of the government’s capitalist policies towards projecting United States as a wealthy first world country in the eyes of the World. As a result the poor get taxed substantially to make up for the low taxes imposed on the rich. Buffet does not subscribe to the government’s point of view that high taxes for the rich would have a domino effect on the working class by way of rise in unemployment rates. He insists that the rich will still look for avenues to make money. Bourdieu and Weber would have agreed with him on that front. They have always insisted that economic disparity is not limited just to social class. it has as much to do with cultural divisions. Bourdieu’s theory propounds that people acquire their aesthetic values based on their cultures and the class of society that were born into. People like Buffet and the other millionaires that Buffet refers to in his article, were born into a cultural setting and background that will inherently push them to make money to maintain their lifestyle against all odds. In this aspect Max and Bourdieu differed from the Marxian theory of social class being defined by economic standards alone. Warren Buffet’s success story also goes to illustrate Bourdieu and Weber’s theory. His is not a quintessential rags to riches success story. He was born into a distinguished family and the son of a former congressman, thereby already inculcated with a certain culture and lifestyle. He admits in his interview with Time magazine that he definitely formulated his life on high ideals and morals that he acquired from his father, but also set his goals on making money as he had to maintain and substantiate the standard and lifestyle he was used to. (Foroohar, 2001) &nbsp. In support of Marx’s theory of distribution of wealth, Buffet has been fighting for higher taxes for the rich. He proposes a progressive tax plan, which reaches a higher percentage when it reaches the million-dollar income bracket and rises progressively at the 10 million brackets and so forth. He does not believe that this would in any way discourage or stop Wall Street investors from continuing with their moneymaking ventures. “&nbsp.I have worked with investors for 60 years and I have yet to see anyone — not even when capital gains rates were 39.9 percent in 1976-77 — shy away from a sensible investment because of the tax rate on the potential gain. People invest to make money, and potential taxes have never scared them off.” (Buffet, 2011). Buffet sees these changes in tax policies as the most important policies that the government can undertake to lower the extreme economic inequality that exists in the United States now.

intensive lifestyle modification for cad reversal successfully reduces circulating levels of metabolic hormones insulin and leptin

I need some assistance with these assignment. intensive lifestyle modification for cad reversal successfully reduces circulating levels of metabolic hormones insulin and leptin Thank you in advance for the help! Introduction The incidence of cardiovascular risk factors in the form of diabetes, obesity, dyslipidaemia and hypertension are often considered as the metabolic syndrome. It is reported that almost 29 percent of global deaths occurring is from the Cardio vascular diseases with majority of causalities being reported from the low and middle income countries (WHO, ). It is also predicted that the heart ailments and stroke would be the major causes of death and disability that would result in more than 24 million fatalities in an year by 2030 (WHO, 2004). The proportion of the deaths reported from United States due to Coronary vascular disease is also 30 and this is reported maximum for the age groups above 65 (United States, 2006)

Among various pathogenic factors, insulin resistance and visceral obesity are considered most significant. (Duvnjak and Duvnjak, 19- 24) . The observed metabolic abnormalities are due to insulin resistance in muscles and surrounding adipose tissue along with the adverse impact on tissue by compensatory hyperinsulinaemia, which is insulin sensitive (Duvnjak and Duvnjak, 19- 24). In addition, abdominal adiposity is also considered a high risk for cardio vascular diseases (CVD). Also, the increasing obesity is found to decrease adiponectin that has important cardiometabolic actions (Bray et al, 30-40). Significant breakthroughs have also been achieved in understanding the key initiators for coronary artery disease. The initiation and progression of atherosclerosis has been found to be associated with leptin. Studies have also shown that plasma leptin concentration has direct relation to the incidence of coronory artery disease and thus could be used as a risk indicator for the development of the disease (Dubey et al, 124 – 128).

. It is clear that the role played by obesity in the cardiometabolic risk is very vital for the development of treatment strategies for the patients with a high risk for cardio vascular diseases (CVD).A critical role played by adipocytokines between insulin resistance and cardiovascular disease has been established. It is also anticipated that effective interventions to improve the functions of endothelial or adipose tissues could significantly reduce the occurrence of cardiovascular events in the obese individuals with metabolic syndrome (Hamdy, 231 – 241). One of the effective ways to treat the people with high cardiovascular risk is through the various lifestyle modifications like restricted calorie intake and increased physical activity (Hamdy, 231-241). The impact of exercise on the controlling the risk factors for the cardiovascular diseases have been reported. it has been shown that the low density lipoprotein , cortinsol and leptin levels can be significantly lowered following rigorous exercise sessions. (Karacabey, 1472-1478). Also add a sentence or two on drugs that can be used to lower leptin and insulin levels.

Modifications to the lifestyle are often proposed as necessary criteria for the reduction in the probability of incidence of cardiovascular diseases. But these approaches have not been accepted well by the scientific community due to the absence of adequate information on the long-term effects of the metabolic hormones. The study proposed here investigates the impact of intensive risk factor modification program on insulin and leptin serum level based on the measurements taken at baseline, 12 weeks and 1 year. Thus the specific objective is to assess the changes in physiological risk factors for CAD based on a one year healthy lifestyle intervention. In addition, the relative effect of the changes in insulin / leptin level and corresponding improvement in vascular health is also investigated. Finally, the benefits of cardiovascular risk reduction programs are also evaluated.

Need help with my writing homework on Prescription for Success in an Associate Degree Nursing Program. Write a 1500 word paper answering; After going through this article, my initial reaction to it was a mixed one. In my opinion, while this article addresses and underscores a very important issue, which compels the readers to read this article, the article itself does little justice to the topic that it is addressing and has several shortcomings. This is due to several reasons, the most important one being the lack of proper organization. As the readers go through this article, instead of getting a clear idea of what the author is trying to get across, they become confused. Although the author has attempted at organizing the article into different sections and subsections based on the themes identified from the research being carried out, the content discussed within these subsections is very ambiguous, particularly due to the use of pseudonyms which makes it confusing for the readers to identify whether the author is referring to the faculty members or the students. Moreover, the language used is also confusing at certain instances which makes it difficult for the readers to decipher what the author is trying to convey. For example, in the statement ‘however, according to Amanda (an instructor), all of the participants in this study thought that “[students] may be excellent in clinicals, but have trouble because they have [problems] taking tests (Rogers, 2010, p. 98),’ it is unclear whether the instructor Amanda believed that students who are adept in clinical might have difficulty in taking tests or all the participants in the study had this opinion or whether Amanda believed that this was the general opinion of all&nbsp.the participants of the study.&nbsp.With regard to the descriptive vividness of the article, while there are certain sections of the article which have been described in adequate detail, such as the methodology, there are also certain areas which lack in clarity and detail and would have benefitted from further elaboration.&nbsp.
